To be clear I see "comedy mentalism" as mentalism presented as a joke, like the Karnac the Great, for example. Anyone who's seen me work knows that I include comedy in my act. But it is situational and flows naturally from the otherwise serious mentalism that I present. The effect are NEVER presented as gags or jokes. I, yes, I think that presenting mentalism while dressed like a clown, or other comic character, trivializes it. |

You could try the Shirley Ghostman route. I thought he was hilarious and in terrible taste. I remember he did a reading for a couple that went something like: "You're going to go on holiday.....she's going to die before you do....errr something about a camera...that's it".
