Hey gang,
Having now had some time to work on and perform the material in this book I'm comfortable saying you guys will enjoy playing with them as well! Michael has taken some very strong, and diverse, card plots and added touches that will allow you to fool laymen AND magicians. Cards appear at named numbers, without you having to touch the pack. Three spectators find their own cards. A streamlined, diabolical, handling of the collectors routine... and so on. If you like playing with great card magic and interesting methods, pick this bad boy up. You won't regret it. Ben
If you're reading this you're my favourite magician.

This is an outstanding book. I read the proof on a plane ride recently and couldn't keep my eyes off until the last page.
Great plots and twists, well written and a cool design vibe. Loved it! John Guastaferro

Just finished reading Michal new book “8 effects and a Sleight” It is a very well written 62 pages featuring, you guessed it, 8 effects and a very nice Multiple card shift. The cover art is beautiful and the illustrations and layout of the book is top notch. One nice part of Michal teachings is he gives you more than one way to approach a sequence in a trick leaving it up to the reader to pick their poison.
A sample of the effects: You Know Better: This is the first effect in the book. Like many of Michal’s effect it is done from a shuffle deck. In the effect the 3 spectators place a card given to them into the deck at different places but magically end up being next to the cards mate. Involves 3 spectators and allows for nice interaction and mystery. Off Center: This center dealing demonstration that received a head nod from Darwin Ortiz. This is routine is for the more advanced card handler although it is a great center dealing demo for those up to the challenge. Duet: This is a unique take on the” Smith-Myth” routine. In Michal’s routine a 2 spectators each choose a number between 10 & 20 . When they count down to their number there selection is there. Plan B: This is a fantastic impromptu magician in trouble effect. I will definitely be adding this to my set list. You learn a great card control and a stunning revelation using the tension of “Magician in Trouble” Magicians hands a pile to each spectator that he believe contains there card. (Even though the spectator clearly saw it did not) The magician uses magic to make the selections appear face up in the piles they hold even though there selection wasn’t there moments ago. To me this a great take on John Bannons timely departed. Great stuff. In Oil, Under Water: A nice two phase oil and water routine. I enjoyed reading this one. Also included is a” Bold Collectors”: Collectors routine & “Colors” a miraskill type routine. Overall there was a nice mixture of effects that vary in skill. . A handful of the tricks involve prior knowledge of certain sleights such as spread culling, bottom dealing etc. This book is not written for the beginner. With this said Michal does provides various resources where these mainstream sleights can be learned. But one thing that I notice consistency in all of his effects was the clean presentation. This book contains no fluff, hard hitting effects. Ryan |

Although not really a talented card guy, I tried out You know better this weekend - actually born from necessity, though....
Anyway, the guys spontaneously handed me the deck and wanted to see something. The only FASDIU effect I remembered in that situation was the one I read and learned recently: You know better! So I pulled it through - and it was so much fun! Now I can imagine how strong the other effects (which I liked from reading) must play in real life! Thanks Mike, for that experience your effect gave me!

Okay, so I have been sitting on this for a while now. For the past couple weeks I have been performing Du-Et and Plan B all the time. Both effects feel superclean due to the magician being way ahead of the spectators in both routines. While those are the standout effects for me, I also picked up one of the oil and water phases as well as taking ideas from the collectors routine. Highly recommended for the avid card worker.
