There are a number of videos posted on youtube about best selling author Frank Peretti's brand new novel "Illusion" published by Simon and Schuster. Peretti discusses his research for the book- type in the search box at http://www.youtube.com "The Peretti Files 3: Presto! Magic and Illusion". The book is available online or at all bookstores nationwide or type in "Illusion" in the search box at http://www.cbd.com to buy the book in hardcover, ebook, or audio book at a discounted price. I have not seen a magician's review of the book yet- does it have enough of a "magic" theme in it for us to enjoy reading this work of fiction? -I/we usually read only non-fiction instructional or magical biographies of course...

As for Peretti books, it's not his best, but it's not nearly as bad as "Monster". It's not even a semi-biographical magic work.
I was very entertained by the book. There are many references to real magic "moves", but the magic in the book is not something for which you could figure out an alternate handling. The ending just sort of arrived and left me cold - almost like there were some pages missing or something. I read it on my Kindle Fire, so all the "pages" were there. I would recommend it, especially if you are a Peretti fan.

Magic Café' poster "Heres Tony" was the magic advisor for the book "Illusion". See http://www.TonyBrent.com Congrats Tony!, looks like a good read.

Frank and his wife Barb are incredible human beings and I was blessed to be able to help with the book but even more so, to become friends in the process.

I started listening to the first of the 17.5 hours of Peretti reading "Illusion." He is a GREAT audio storyteller! It's got me hooked for sure- cannot recommend it highly enough.

I have listened to all 17.5 hours of CDs- they were terrific! I thought the ending was excellent as well, very exciting, I have no idea why one poster above thought it left him "cold"- we are all entitled to our opinions for sure and I respect that- but I found the entire book including the ending to be a great ride. If you drive around in your car much of each day as I do, you will look forward to every trip you take if only to get the opportunity to listen to more of the "Illusion" audio story. Just A++++ all the way in my view.

I enjoyed the book, but I was disappointed in the ending - that's all. I don't know whether I was expecting something different, didn't understand it, or what. Maybe I should re-read the ending.
I still recommend the book.

The ending was suspenseful- I was thinking this book all along this would make for a great movie- the finale would need an entire army of special effects technicians to pull it off.
