Hi everybody,
I bought the David Stone "WORDS", it's a book test with a word search test book. I've tested it and the effect is really strong, there is several ways for the presentation. Moreover, there is nothing to learn... Quite rare for a book-test effect. |

Looks very interesting and very similar to the book test put out by Cosmo.
Here's a link: http://www.davidstonewords.com/product.php?id_product=10 Is there much pumping needed to get the word? |

I heard that Cosmo launched a Cross Word Book test effect; Here is a Words search puzzle one. Three books are included and 2 of them are pocket size.
French version was launched in last september. Now it is available in 4 languages (french, english, german and spanish) There is no much pumping. Only one question will be necessary and this is not always the same question ;-) Really no memory work. That was the first thing which make me buy it. The Finale is absolutely clever because you can read many letters (or entiregrid) into spectator Mind. Just find a video : http://youtu.be/LwtCNu5dgK0 |

This is a great item. Not only are you able to guess the word chosen by the spectator - and repeat this any time with any page - but at the end, you ask him to choose any line or any column on his page, and you tell him the letters (with no meaning) upwards, or backwards, or from right to left, or left to right. Something like: "Now look at the second line (for example)... you have a N, then a K, then a T..." and so on. You can tell him all the letters on the lines or on the columns if you want so.
This is very impressive because not only did you guess any number of words (with a meaning) on any page (and you don't have to hold the magazine), but for the finale, you recite all the letters in any order (which have no meaning). Best of all - there is nothing to memorize!

If you ask me if you use some sort of code on the back cover - yes you can.
But you really don't need this to perform the effect - with very little memory!

...Just to make sure I am not misunderstood: when you give at the end of the routines all the random letters in any posible direction (and from any possible line or colomn), you DO NOT have to look at the cover, or at anything. You just apparently concentrate (!) and give all the letters.
And - NO MEMORY involved.

Cher Monsieur Sanvert,
Bien(re)venu au Café! Je me rappelle avec gratitude et respect de Votre grande aide et pour Fabrice et pour ses clients comme moi. The video clip was very contemporary, I did not understand a thing except that modern guitarplayers seem to use a very limited number of chords. I saw this book test performed at a show, and it failed 3 times in a row! I don't want to say that it is bad, maybe the performer didn't do it right. But it failed so bad. There were questions asked that blew my mind because we had a development of book tests to kill all suspiscous things. The performer asked for the page number, he asked how many letters there are, and asked for a letter........ WTF???
Like I said, I don't know if this is the routine or the performance was baddly, but theses questions were a pointer of how it is done. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

@Chester Sass
"Maybe the performer didn't do it right..." Not maybe...CERTAINLY !!! And it's kind of sad, because : You don't need to ask the page number. You don't need to ask for the number of letters. You don't need to ask for a letter. But...but...You need to read ALL the instructions !

@ Jan: You are absolutely right, like the CSI Booktest! ;-)
@ J. Cadeac: Maybe I will have to ask somebody who can do it right. The performance was the worst advertisement you can have. And I'm quite sure that the quote from the magician who showed this effect is even in the german ads! :-D

It's adverstising, that's it.
The problem is the man talk about it has only two posts only on this topic and he's French... Maybe he's the man behind words who knows ;-)

I got it yesterday (german version) and I like it a lot. As in any book test, a tiny bit of "fishing" is also here necessairy. but the handling is so easy, nothing to remember in the head.
