As someone who is 1/4 German, I'm still miffed that Alan Rickman was cast as Hans Gruber in Die Hard.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley.

Yea nothing sells tickets like a total newcomer just because he is Native American.

Why go with proven star power? Stupid Disney.

Well, Hunger Games did well.

And Tonto is the sidekick, it is THE LONE RANGER Movie. Smile

Hunger Games had Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland though. I liked it.

And a lot of newcomers, even the lead was one.

I'm suggesting a newcomer just for Tonto, not the whole Cast of the movie.

The Hunger Games director might be making a movie about Houdini. Awesome.

I understand why they are using Depp, it's pretty par for the course. I can only think of a few indian actors these days anyway. Graham Greene is too old. The guy from Windtalkers would have probably been good. Back in the day I could have seen either Cheif Dan George or Will Samson doing it. But obvioulsy none of those people close to the star power of Depp. And the bottom line is the bottom line when it comes to making movies nowadays for the most part.

I doubt I'll see it anyway. Never was much of a Lone Ranger fan. Guess I'll have to wait around until they make a movie of Gunsmoke, Bonanza, or The Rifleman. And I'm sure they will.

You guys are bigots. Why couldn't Houdini be played by a black WOMAN?!

Is the guy from Windtalkers the same guy from Smoke Signals?

Speaking of Bonanza, remember that one where Marlo Thomas played a chinese woman? Holy Cow that was brutal. That might have been the one that made Pernell Roberts quit the show for good. Lol!!

He is pretty good. Another co-inkey-dink is that the short story that Smoke Signals was based on came from a book called "The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven."

In this same book another character's Dad talks about how in the 60's all the white kids wanted to be Indians.

Probably cause they watched all those Billy Jack movies with another white man playing a "half breed" indian. lol.
