Can you recommend any chop cup routines that are specifically designed to be performed in the palm of the hand.
Thanks

Check out the Loomis routine. Go to Jamie D Grant's Magic Friday blog and there is a video which will give you an idea. I use a routine which is close-ish to this one.

Axel Hecklau's 'Just a cup' looks nice in the hand (although not strictly a chop cup)

Martin Sanderson demonstrates his short routine in the hand on 'Corporate Close Up' DVD

Definitly Axel Hecklaus just a cup. Also the Evolution chop cup lets you do a phase on the specs hand. But for the most versatility I'd reccomend just a cup.

Peter Rosengren's "Psycho Ball", a clean stand-up chop cup routine done in/on a spectators hand.

George Schindler' Chop Cup (coffee mug chop cup at that) has been in print for maybe 40 years. His was one of the first to develop a walk around, in the spectator's hands, Chop Cup routine. Plus he taught how to make the Chop out of an easy to find product (an insulated coffee mug).

I believe the routine is on his DVD "Gerorge Schindler's Entertainment First". http://www.showbizmagic.net/vidvd.html

Do you desire effects performed in your own hand or a spectator's?

Ron London had an in the hands routine. I believe he's in Terra Haute. Does away with the 'how hard to put down' question.

Some additional considerations for an in the hands routine:

Fortasse:

Rik Brooks used to make some very nice small leather chop cups. I have one. He also had an "in the hands" routine that you could purchase. I have that as well. I would bet that you could still buy that routine from him. He's no longer making the chop cups as he injured one of his hands hand quite badly. Hopefully he does one day again as they are very nice!

He hasn't been on the Café here for quite some time. He's a computer programmer so magic is not his full-time profession. I believe he lives in the Memphis area now. His e-mail used to be: rik@texasmob.com but I'm not sure if that is current. He does have a website (rikbrooks.com) and you could probably contact him through there. He also has a Facebook page.

Good luck.
