Here's a fun an unusual game to have under your belt.
It's called "Notakto" (pronounced "no-tac-toe"). The game is like tic-tac-toe, except both players mark an X on their turn, and the idea is to AVOID making 3 Xs in a row. You can play the game against a computer here. Or, if you have an iPad, you can get a Notakto App here. It's a new an interesting game, and the fact that the game can't end in a tie (think about it, with both players marking Xs, SOMEBODY is going to have to make 3 in a row) makes it fun. This game has a dirty little secret, however. These 2 new rules turn tic-tac-toe into a version of our old friend, Nim. Yep, you can win this game every time! I've put together 2 free tutorials to help you learn how to win this game every time, including to play and win on multiple boards simultaneously: How to Play and Win Notakto: 1 and 2 Boards How to Play and Win Notakto: 3+ Boards |

Very clever indeed. Question though, how can you still win if the other player insists on playing first in a single board game?

Simple, snm. Ask the other person whether they'd like to go first before mentioning the number of boards that will be in play.
If they want to go first, play on an odd number of boards. If they want to go second, play on an even number of boards. |
