Well, you are right about the audience in mentalism and shows..
the thing is: I am not about shows in this question.. just curious as I like this sort of yedi-tricks - so I would like to know if they are usable on their own or to ask more precise: how usable they are on their own.. at least my curiosity is based in my style I think: I am only about naked mentalism (and do also not like dr).. |

So nobody here who made amnesia-effects and can tell how high the success-rate of the psychological part ot this effect is / how high the rate of the people is who really forgot what they had in mind?

It's like asking "What is the success rate for 'hand stuck to the table'?" For some performers, it will be 75%, for others 25%, for some it might be 99%. I'm not sure what use the information is to anyone though.

I'd love to use something like cerebral steal or RGM but I cant imagine how I'd practice them.

Glemme is designed to be a 100%. Perhaps you misunderstand what the method is...perhaps a read through of the original text is in order.

As I said earlier, though, our art is about how our audience perceives us, not about how awesome we feel for wiping someone's memory. In which case Glemme is better than a shaky psychological gambit. But my advice fell on deaf ears. Perhaps he has committed an indiscretion and wants the police/witnesses/his wife to forget about it..? As I said earlier, though

@patrick:
Do not really understand what is so difficult to understand.. just want to know how high is the success-rate with psychological amnesia-effects you guys had - not the dual-reality part.. did I write it the 3rd time now? just have forgotten.. @c.j.: does not weaken the effect if the spectator really forgets the word etc. he thought off (and the stronger the effect is the more the audience likes you and the more awesome you feel).. guess you know that but just have forgotten it.. |

It's not about success rate, it's about reactions. Even if you nail it every time, amnesia-effects which are suggestion based gets many times poor, not to say fake, reactions. Mostly confusion and mumbling and not "oh my god! I forgot it!!!".
I also recommend you search in the Hype-notism forum. I think is what you look for. Nimrod , Israel |

Well, it is up to the performer to sell the trick - so if they really forgot it he can sell it better than if they did not - but this is up to the skills of course..
anyhow: thanks for the advice with the hypno-forum.. jim also recommended it.. now I am convinced you 2 guys are right.. by the way: isn´t it interesting: I asked a very easy question.. almost all reactions did not refer to this simple question and some totaly misunderstood it.. maybe interesting to analyse this behaviour.. is there a idea about this sort of percption and a possibility how to fool people based on this sort of mis-perception? |

Well, I do not want to say anything - just asking for the % you guys achieve with the psychological amneasi-art.. to say it it more directly: how many % do you achieve to forget?

I just recently (yesterday) got this Kindle Book called Hypnosis for Beginners: The Most Frequen......Answered. It adds some nice insight and background to the effect called Cerebral Steal by James Brown. I can actually see from this book how James brown designed the key "scripting" of this effect. It is currently free. You should be able to even read it on a Kindle Cloud account.
Thanks, Vernesto
