And then there's the Southern expression for Brazil Nuts, which I can't type here. I think if most folks in this town heard it they'd go into hysterics.

My Grandpa was from Virginia and one of his favorite expressions was: "Gooooood cracker." He'd say that whenever he ate just about anything.

I never heard that one before my wife from Montana mentioned it once.

There was also a boxed candy sold in NYC candy stores in the fifties and sixties and later as well, that were nicknamed something along the same lines as Brazil Nuts. Santa's father would probably know it. They were shaped in the form of little babies, as politically incorrect as THAT sounds.

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

Sugar babies are goooood. So are sugar daddies.

One common Southern expression that confuses folks is the one REM made famous is 'loosing my religion'. It basically means about to loose it or get p*ssed of. If your mom says it you may get smacked.

The word pop was so alien to me that when a midwest company bought the grocery I went to they changed the signs inside. I looked at the signs looking for 'soft drinks' or soda. The sign now said pop and it really confused people like me.

There's a company in Michigan called Faygo who even put out a soft drink called Red Pop.
