Im am starting magic and only own a few props, however All the props I own pack flat and ummm... I'm working on the play big part, but is definatley coming
My show is
Thumbtip vanish
Colouring book
Sponge balls
Change bag and balloons
Liquid in newspaper
Sponge balls
Dubious dominoe (might not be able to fit is one in, but I still own it Smile )
Rope routine
And torn and restored newspaper.
My whole act could fit into a briefcase (not that I own one,.. But you get the point)

My thought is, The older you get the more of this stuff you like to use. (Usually... not me but I'm a prop nut)
My suggestions are, a flat sucker sliding trick, Linking Rings, 20th Century Silks, Egg Bag, Balloon Animals and bleeding needle through a kids head, in one ear and out the other because I want to see if you actually read my posts.

As Payne already commented:
David Kaye's new Princess Pickle is a very good example of a great pack small play big effect:

I am thinking of getting one, however I would have prefered when the change would have made with a change-bag

Do you think peek a boo bunny is too "young" for kids who are 11 years old?
Thanks

I am not familiar with the trick (I don't use traditional props) but I would assume, with a name like that, it is too young for nine year olds.

David Kaye's version of Magic Coloring Book. It's great! Though, 10-11 year olds might find it hokey. But a definite must for the younger kids.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about? Smile

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

The Colossal Coloring Book routine of Danny Orleans (on his great new 3 DVD set) is also fantastic! You also learn how to make the props such as Vanishing Crayons! I highly recommend the whole set of dvds whcih come with downloadable pdf files of some artwork needed in the constrcution of some props!
