Does anyone know of an easy way of making accurate cuts to produce a custom Svengali deck?
I was thinking of making a card holder and cutting guide, but maybe there is one out there already? Or do you all just cut them one at a time, by sight? Steve |

As far as I know, the old fashioned card cutter haven't been manufactured for years. A simple way to do it is just cut one card and use it as somewhat as a stencil to mark off where to cut the other cards. I simply use a pencil and pair of scissors to accomplish this task. Hope that helps.

Have you ever thought of a paper cutter? Not the one with the handle you pull down, but the one with a cutting disk, you roll from end to end. It is perfect for cutting photo paper.

Oh almost forgot,.....you'll need a corner rounder too. They are very cheap at a fabric or craft store.

I finally bought a professional corner rounder with 1/8" (that's cards real corner diameter) and it was NOT cheap. But if you have a cheaper source, I would be pleased to know of. Thank you! A paper cutter? Forget about the rolling disk ones, mine is the one with the big handle to pull down - I cut 1/3 deck at a time. Precision made, of course.

Steve, if you need special cards cut and the corners rerounded, let me know what you need, or send me the cards you need cut, and I'll be more than happy to do them for you. I have three old cutters from Kanters magic co. of years ago, along with two corner rounders. You do need the proper equiptment to do it right, A rolling cutter is not accurate enough and the corner rounders in craft stores do not match the cut of a poker size card. I have the special cutters for Svengali, stripper and edge strippers, I have been working on having the equiptment made to do belly strippers in the future, but it is an expensive trial and error process at this point. Hope I can help you out.

These belly strippers are hard to do, that's a problem I'm working on, too. And the proper equipment is expensive, I agree. But some people must do that job, right?
