I have been using Klamm's sponge core rope (http://www.klamm-magic.com/cgi-bin/web_store.cgi?cart_id=5742346_17805&keywords=RO001&exact_match=on) for a Ring & Rope routine. I really like the rope, but the foam core breaks down very rapidly. When the rope is new then the knots are big and very visible. The rope handles like a dream. but when the foam core breaks down then the rope is very limp and not pretty.

Has anyone else ever tried this rope for a Ring and Rope routine? Does anyone have any suggestions on other sponge core ropes?

I use Daryl's rope for my ring and rope routine. It is pure white, but eventually it does fade. IMHO The sponge core rope isn't good enough to do cut and restore with.

Only a suggestion here, but have you tried wetting the rope and ringing it out before using it, that way the sponge is "brought back to life" and may last at little longer.

Working with dry out sponge only destroys the sponge properties of the material. As with any sponge material, the more you pull and handle it, it will decay. Nothing especially sponge last forever, if it did there would be no need to sell more rope.

Sorry, I never heard of anyone else selling this type of rope.

Thanks for the tip, but it isn't possible. The foam core is totally disintegrated.

I e-mailed Klamm magic and they said that they have heard of this happening, but it is not typical. They offered to replace my rope at no charge, however I declined their offer and instead am ordering a new hank of rope. Hopefully the new piece will last longer. When it is fresh it is great rope for my Ring and Rope routine.
