Would you go? If so why?
If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000

Of course I'd go. They're going to need some live entertainment and there will be less competition.

Talk about a captive audience.

Heck yeah, I'd go. They're going to need some live entertainment, and Bob ain't gonna live forever. Smile (Although now, he might take steps to insure that I go first! Ha!)

Not me- "Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids."

Anyway, ten years is extremely optimistic. They have eight years to develop the technology- better propulsion, fuel, and radiation shielding, among many other things. Then there's the psychological and physiological impact of a two year trip in an aluminum can at zero-G on the human body. I'd like to see it, but I don't think it'll happen by 2013.

Obvious typo. Guess I don't get any breaks, even with the Elton John quote.

I wonder if the initial enthusiasm over this project will dilute over time?

According to the site's FAQ page, the mission is being financed by private sponsorships.

They don't want me there because the whole time I'll be going "Quaid, start the reactor."

I couldn't imagine a more crappy existence...but I suppose there *are* others (as mentioned at the site) who would love that kind of life.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".
