Hornady is a highly reputable company. I would stake my life on any of their products.

Yet another terrible result of the drug war. I know that's gonna rile people up and confuse them, and they'll say these are examples of why we need MORE focus on the drug war. It's all very sad in the end.

Now we are in a position where these people are going and buying this synthetic **** sold in head shops, gas stations and other places because they feel its a legal substitute. I know you guys must have seen these things little baggies hanging in a gas station near all the water pipes and such.... I read an article yesterday about a gas station attendant who says "Everyone from 16 to 75 was and is buying this stuff, they feel like its the legal way to take the edge off" He also said "Everyone from Bums to Lawyers". Its scary when you think about it.... Whatever happened to the good ol' days when you could smoke a joint and eat a whole bag of Doritos.. Not Smoke some synthetic legal crack and eat a whole guys Face........ Weird..... -Bobby |

Exactly Bobby. Not to mention how prohibition leads to the development of harder, much worse, drugs like meth. If you're already doing something "illegal" you're gonna wanna get as much bang for your buck. If you have to go to some risky place/guy for your pot, well THAT'S where the "gateway" is. Not the drug itself, but the environment the prohibition creates.
Hell, cigarettes and alcohol are much more of a gateway than pot, in many ways also due to "prohibition." That is the prohibition to youths. Not that I'm saying kids should be smoking and drinking, same as I'm not saying they should be shooting dope, but the prohibition makes it so much worse, and puts those who ARE going to do these things, and they ARE going to do them, in much more dangerous situations.

So has anybody ever gotten someone with schizophrenia really high on weed and locked themselves in a room with them?
No? Good. My advice is- don't.

Despite marijuana's generally benign effects, from what I've seen, schizophrenia and marijuana are not a great mix. Definitely aggravates the symptoms.

I've read several studies indicating that smoking grass can exacerbate schizophrenia and several other mental illnesses.
Glenn, your link supports this in mentioning the effects of THC. And while I have not personally given weed to someone with schizophrenia, I have been around people with schizophrenia both when they were high and when they weren't. They were quite terrifying when high. Schizophrenia is kind of an area of personal interest to me for reasons I will not elaborate upon here. It is my strong belief that marijuana in its natural form is contra-indicated for this condition. I will be interested to see how things pan out with that specific compound in repeated trials though. I only brought it up to illustrate that everybody reacts differently to any drug and one person's harmless buzz is another person's decent into Hell.

Pot is without doubt an harmful drug and as for driving on it that is or can be a very dangerous thing to do. Legally I would treat much like booze.

Landmark and Crittet, yes. Very true. That's why I mentioned "something in the plant" referring to the compound, not to imply smoking it would be good for someone with schizophrenia, as mentioned in the linked article.

Weed seemed to expand his spectrum of perceptions beyond a healthy control.
