A while ago I was looking through the Collected Works and found a small routine that has a card turn face up (or down) while in the middle of the deck.
Later on I worked out a much easier and smoother handling of the same effect.
Now I cant find that routine again. It could be in either volume so unless someone actually knows the name of it from memory, Ive got a LONG search ahead.
Anyone any ideas what it could be?

Well I forgot whether the effect is EXACTLY the same as Elmsley's routine but in my version:

I turn over the top card to show it's face, throw it in the air (just incase anyone might think that there are 2 cards) place it back facedown, cut it into the centre of the deck (still showing that it is face down) outjog it slightly so that it can be seen to be face-down all the time, then at fingertips I push it in (you can wave a wand over it at this point, if so inclined) and announce that it is now face up.
Spread the deck across the table and Fay Presto! The card sits face up in the middle of the spread...
...wait for applause...
..wait some more..

that's basically what I do at the moment as a quick impromtu trick but I think there was a full routine in Elmsley's book for this move.

Look up 'Infinity: Round Trip' in Vol. 1. A card vanishes from the deck and reappears face-up in the deck. Very nice.
