Hello all!
I was just wondering how you guys work your decks for performances?
For example when do you stop using a deck?
For me its when the cards do not fan well, but I am confused because a deck of cards I opened like 4 days ago is not fanning well now, but one ive had for like a year and is old, stickier cards and dirty sides fans very well if you do it fast. Both decks are normal bikes by the way
So I was wondering how you all deal and work with decks and how you decide.
Basically share experiences with decks Smile lol

You may want to post or search under "The Workers". Also, you can google "The magic Café: deck rehabilitation" or whatever your search desire is to get some good answers. Also search under "steven Youell" for some good ideas...

What type of deck did you buy?

Different types of cards work differently.

I have always found Air Cushioned Bicycles to be the best for magic and flourishes, but there are other great choices as well.

I have found Maverick playing cards to be good as well.

Basically, for flourishes and such, stick with cards that have an Air Cushion finish. They make the cards a lot slippier and more durable, but they are usually more expensive. The finish of the deck should be somewhere on the deck box.

Other types of cards, such as plastic-coated cards, are cheaper and are really bad to handle after a few uses. These types of cards are generally best used for Saturday poker and beer nights.

Many pro's reinvigerate their decks with fanning powder. It's not only the condition of your decks but also the condition of your hands. Hands can also be more oily on some days then others. I use dawn dishwashing soap on my hands prior to performing if at all possible. I carry a small container of it in my case.
