I was wondering who that big ugly guy was when Eric, Bubba, and I had lunch together.

I’m in a different circumstance.
This Autumn I re-opening the San Francisco Magic Parlor. I expect attendance to be slow during the Holiday Season (people are spending their money on gifts) and I expect I’ll have a few unsold seats. Rather than paper the house with comps, I figure I could fill those seats, get more social-media exposure, and some extra word of mouth— as well as some minimal income by using Social Living. I’ve carefully looked over their stats and customer profiles and they fit my upscale target market fairly well. A few local black-box theatre companies have had quite a boost using them. I would only list with them for the first weeks of the run, and would limit the seats to only a number I think could end up empty. In the San Francisco market they reach a mailing list of over 250,000 theatre going customers. I doubt if booking regular outside shows at a one-quarter profit would be practical, or make a dent in business, but for a longer theatre venue run, it may be worth experimenting. Magically, Walt |

Good luck Walt. I hope it works out well for you. I've know of other businesses to also use them for ticket sales.

Hello! I thought you’d like a “down to the wire” update.
-- 4 Days to go on the clock! -- 45 Incredible donors. -- $3,580 pledges This grant provides for details in the Parlor’s ambiance to suggest the La Belle Époque period, so my guests feel they are in a turn-of-the-century Cabaret. Michael Mosher (with no compensation for his work or time) sent up the three tables that will grace the stage. Not only are the lovely, they all fold perfectly flat for storage each night! http://wackomagic.blogspot.com/2012/07/c......sco.html Thank You for supporting the project. Magically, Walt |

I actually approached Living Social with this idea a year ago and they put the deal together and it went all the way up the approval ladder but got shut down at the very top. They claimed they didn't want to work with a one person business in case something happened to me. I was not happy and now I find out they allowed it in another state? Boo!
