I know this is getting along the lines of facebook, but there are lot of posts where people just have one words like 'Agree' in response to people. I think a Like and Dislike button make posts easier to decide whether you agree with peoples posts or not, and if a post gets a lot of likes, it would make me more interested in reading it as I would value the comment more, as opposed to reading it and thinking at the end...what a waste of my time. Would also mean when it comes to reviews etc, products are more easier decided on the amount of likes it has

Then, why not a "dislike" button
An "I could care less" button
..,

Why not post a smiley face.
If you look at the smiles, there are many to choose from, these can express your mood more than just like.

I think the original poster means having a "LIKE" or "DISLIKE" button (or "THUMBS UP" and "THUMBS DOWN") available for each topic only on the initial posting so that a running tally of votes would be displayed in the forum list. This would mean that one would not have to read through all the pages of replies on a topic to see how many people simply replied with, "I agree" or "Disagreed" or if they posted a smiley face of some sort. One would be able to tell how many "LIKES" or "DISLIKES" a topic has just by looking at the index or at the first post.

Christopher, "Agree" doesn't necessarily mean "Like".

Been suggested before and we are not facebook. If you like a post or topic, contribute to the forum. If not, just don't visit it.
