My review here:

http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......um=109&0

The review is kind of generic, as it has not been released yet, and I did not want to tip
any details of its workings

Excellent review. Thanks for taking the time.

There is no demo for this yet, so I'll wait for that. But, the deck and the prediction can't be handled. So, that Magi does the deck work ( counting the cards)?

This sounds like it appeals more to magicians than a lay audience. I understand the selling out after it was demoed. I've seen magicians at lectures line up to buy so-so products, so selling out isn't enough for me.

I'm open to being proved wrong.

The prediction can be handled in one version of the effect. In certain circumstances the spectator can count the cards. When the performer counts the cards there are no sleights or false moves.

I saw this performed by a friend who bought one at FISM. I loved this. The method is almost better than the effect itself because it is so clever!

I would say that this is perfect for a formal close up show where you perform this effect once during a 'performance'. Table hoppers may wish to seek alternatives. Not that this couldn't be performed table to table, I just don't think it would be ideal.

Mike Kirby has developed something with X-Act that makes this effect direct and well within the capability of almost anyone - there's almost no 'technique' required compared to other versions which achieve the same end result but rely on 'heavy' technique.

This one is a keeper ... my order's in!!

Echoing some of the comments above you get nothing new in terms of effect as it's the standard Card at any number plot

What you do get is some clever methodology that makes the trick automatic apart from some simple maths that's involved. Imagine a spectator freely thinks of a number between 1 and 52 (the spectator cant pick 52 but then again it's highly unlikely they would) You the magician picks up a deck that has been on the table the whole time tips the cards out and without any funny moves counts through to the spectators number showing a number of cards either side of it to be different. The card at the spectators number matches your prediction in an envelope that has also been in full view. There is also another handling which will allow you to have the prediction on the spectators outstretched hand at the start before they've thought of the number but there will be one of two possible outcomes though the spectator will be unaware due to some careful wording.

Previous methods have accomplished the above The Grail by Mike Rose, JP Vallarinos Only Think and Shin Lim's Think but there is usually some awkward handling dealing from the deck face up instead of face down etc which are eliminated in this version.

This is a great card trick. Great effect. Great method. It's like an automatic CAAN. I can see why David Copperfield both two of these.

I've tried both handlings, and handling #1 is by far the best.

Handling one is as clean as a whistle to laymen . Handling 2 has a 50 % chance it will be fairly illogical on end result . Its a no brainer for me unless specs grab prediction which is highly unlikely and almost impossible if effect sold correctly so handling one wins for me everytime IMO .
