RACINE — A former Sturtevant village trustee accused of a weapons offense and misconduct with teenage girls must put his house up for sale and move out of Wisconsin within 60 days, according to an unusual plea deal made Wednesday.
What is this, an episode of Gunsmoke? Pay a fine and get out of town by noon or else? The story is bizarre all around. Check it out below. It calls the deal "unusual" but I can't remember ever hearing of a deal like this. Anyone know somebody who got kicked out of their state? http://www.journaltimes.com/news/local/f......3f4.html |

Lots of folks who are in The Marine Corps were
given an ultimatum, Service Branch or Prison! Get out of town they were told! I'm certain it is common in the other branches as well. |

Well telling this guy to move just makes him someone else's problem. That's a Richard move right there.

Devious do they still do that? We had guys in the navy who had the 'join up or lock up' but I thought higher standards kept them out.

And I believe they have to obtain a waiver from the branch of service. I don't believe the service is obligated to take anyone because a judge ordered it. In fact I think it's usually done in reverse. The judge doesn't order someone to join the service. The defense gets with the prosecutor and asks if having the person join the service would be agreeable in lieu of punishment. Oftentimes they aren't even facing a jail sentence. Then the person goes to the service branch and sees if they will accept them. If so, the person comes back to court, pleads guilty, or no contest, or whatever they have agreeed upon, and the judge makes a ruling based on that. Usually to drop all charges, or to have them expunged upon completion of basic training, or something like that. |

They do it here in Georgia. From time to time the news paper or the tv news will say so and so was ordered by the judge to leave the state of Georgia.
I also remember seeing a show on the Bio network about the BeeGees and it said that they were told by a judge to leave England. Peace and Godspeed.
Peace
