I think the fortune telling fish is a fun, inexpensive give-away but the stuff on the back of the plastic envelope doesn't really mean much to kids:
Moving Head .................. Jealousy Moving Tail .................. Indifference Moving Head and Tail ......... In Love Curling Sides ................ Fickle Turns Over ................... False Motionless ................... Dead One Curls Up Entirely ............ Passionate Can the fish be placed in a custom paper envelope (that I could put contact information on and a silly fortune on the back) or does it need to stay in the plastic envelope it comes in? I know I could place that whole plastic sleeve in my own custom packaging but I'm thinking about putting my own funny fortune on the package and don't want it to be confusing. Also, has anyone put their own twist on this and if so would you share what fun or silly fortunes you used? Or, has anyone seen these for sale with a different "fortune" than the one I typed above? I found this thread that had what Ted Lashley used as a fortune. That thread suggested placing stickers on the back of the envelope it came in. Is that because they must stay in the plastic or is that just what some people find easiest to do? Thanks everyone.

Curtgunz:
Just to clarify -- I take the fish out of those flimsy plastic sleeves and place them into small manila coin envelopes. The envelopes I use measure 4.25" x 2.5". I place the "meanings" label on the front of the envelopes, and a smaller label with my contact info on the back of the envelope. And for the record, I do not seal the envelopes; simply close the flap and it stays in place just fine; besides, if you seal the flap, opening it later will damage the envelope, which you don't want to happen. The larger labels I use for the front (with the meanings) measure 4" x 2"; the ones on the back with my contact info are standard return-address labels, 1" x 2-5/8". I'll be happy to send you one in the mail if you wish. Hope this clarifies things a little! TED |
