I remember visiting Brazil back in the early 90's and they were using corn based ethanol fuel there and had been for quite a while. I was taken with the way the air smelled everywhere you went. Very sickly sweet smell every where you went.

A boat dealer told me that premium gas doesn't contain ethanol because they wouldn't be able to maintain the listed octane rating. Google searches have not been able to find anything definitive.
Do any of you know for sure?
