I recently purchased a lot box of magic tricks, all with instructions or already known to me but one: 4 lengths of rope, one long, (2 1/2 feet), 2 medium (1 1/2 feet) and 1 short (7 inches). The short piece has a piece of wire or metal hidden in the last 2 inches of an end. Can anyone tell me what this rope was used to do? If I knew the name of the trick it is used for, I might be able to look for instructional videos, etc. Thank you.

Does the short piece have a loop of wire or a piece of wire?

It has what feels like a pretty solid piece of wire inside of it. No visible wire, no loop.

Are the pieces of rope about one inch in diameter?

Its not a magnet is it?

It could be a rope thru body effect, any magnets or metal plates in the box?

It sounds like the Dan Harlan rope trick, but the thingy seems to be broken.

No, it's not a magnet, and yes, the rope is about 1 inch in diameter. It's not a big deal, I was just curious about what trick it could be for.
