Does anyone use 18" silks cut in half for their TTs.If so, do you try to sew a hem or just use it with the raw edge? Are there any other sizes that work besides 12"?

Hi Daryl,
You Can get Diamond cut silks that fit in a TT! I use an 18 in. one in extra long TT!

Check out Jay Scott Berry's website - He sells diamond cut silks, streamers, sponge balls and shapes, and other things for the TT and/or Sanada gimmick.

He also has several killer lectures.

Definitely diamond cut silks are the way to go. I use these for most all of my silk routines. Smile

Actually silks are only measured by the hemmed edge. Diamond cut silks that look like an 18" square silk are only 12" on the edge. They will fit into a TT just like a 9" square silk.

As the importer, it bothers me that dealers sometimes mislabel 12" diamond cuts as 18" diamonds. An 18" diamond cut looks like a 24" square silk. There is no such thing as a 36" diamond cut silk. Cloth in the necessary width (51") is no longer made.

Please don't pay 18" diamond prices for a 12" diamond cut silk. Normally you should pay within a dollar of the same thing for a 12" true diamond cut silk as you do an 18" square silk.

In a true diamond cut silk, all four sides measure the same. In the cheaper knock-offs, there are two long sides and two short sides. (The center corner points are not at the center of the silk.)

Give them a try.
