I just had a chance to view the clip Mickey sent me and I only have one thing to say. Unbelievable! I've seen some good coin workers but he brings the retention vanish to a whole new level. Even though I know it's just a sleight, I would swear that the coin stayed in his mouth. Once he gets a professional DVD released, I will definitely be his first customer. Awesome! Any comments from anyone else who's seen it? Thanks again, Mickey. I appreciate the time you took to get the clip to me.

I think Mickey Silver is from Boston, right? Does he perform anywhere in the city? I'm up there quite a bit and was just wondering.

I can tell you I have personally viewed Mickey on video (obviously in person would be best.) He is extremely nice, extremely generous, and EXTREMELY GOOD!

His retention of vision technique is wonderful. From my limited knowledge base compared to some of you coin folk; he uses a lot of Ramsay subtlety. Whatever, he is smooth.

Hope to meet you in person Mickey. Thanks for your help. Smile

I'd have to agree with all of you. I have personally seen Mickey on video as well and it was incredible. Seeing as opposed to hearing and talking about it, my goodness it is UNBELIEVABLE. Great Job again Mickey!

MICKEY SILVER ROCKS.

I have seen his coin vanish and his coin in the mouth at the LVMI and he brought the place down.
His human slot machine was a thing of beauty.

I was lucky enough to see Mickey Silver’s tape. It’s amazing. I would have testified in court that Mickey actually ate those coins if I hadn’t heard differently!

His retention pass is so smooth and clean that it looks like real magic.

I wish I could do that.
Humans make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to create boredom. Quite astonishing.

Mickey Silver is the man. I never thought the routine he did could be done so convincing, especially to another professional magician. So the question is...

A. Did Mickey Silver do the real routine in a perfect, wonderful and highly entertaining manner?

B. Was he chewing coin crackers that would go back together again when he spit them out?

C. Is there a hose inside of his system starting at his throat and ending up at his left hand fingertips so the coins could travel?

I'm sure it was A, B or C. I'm going to call Jeff McBride and David Copperfield so they can tell me. Smile

I was wondering if anybody knows? Are Mickey's moves his own, ORIGINAL or did he learn them somewhere? I watched that video clip over and over. I just can't believe a person can handle a coin that smoothly, especially a silver dollar. I would really like to know where I could learn that.

I've spoken to Mickey a few times. He seems like one of those self-taught folks. This means his techniques are designed to suit him.

You might want to keep an eye out for anything he gets published.

I second this; he also said the same to me. Definitely looking forward to it.

The retention to the mouth is really something else.
I've seen the video and I'm still seeing coins before my eyes if I blink. Talk about retention!

Thanks Mickey!

Can anybody put a link to that clip or offer to host if necessary? I think we all need to see that.

Just got a tape from the guy about the retention pass.

Beyond the move, what he has to offer both by example in performance and in explanation is useful.

If you get to Boston, say hello. And keep your eyes open this spring for a video clinic on the retention.

Just got my video from Mickey, the retention in the mouth is beautiful.
He really did his homework on this move, and has some great ideas using this move.

I can't wait to see more.

Thanks Mickey

I got to see Mickey in person at the LVMI -- including his "human slot machine" routine, which is a magical riot act -- and now he was nice enough to send me his video showing his retention.

A gem on the video that no one has mentioned yet is the way Mickey uses a sort of reverse retention in the act of opening his hand to show a coin -- while actually the hand has never held a coin at any time (!).

It's an amazing idea, and since the move is totally convincing, the spectators believe something that isn't true -- so a moment later, they're badly fooled when the coin disappears or seemingly jumps elsewhere.

It's incredibly generous of Mickey to have sent videos to people, at his own expense, to let them see his amazing coin work.

Thanks, Mickey!

Cheers,
Jerry
