These finally are done tonight! Made the leather cups, one's a chop, and the leather round lace monkey fist balls for it. The chop cup works perfect for my preference too. Here's the pic, if you're interested you can see all the steps to make them I posted in the workshop.

Beautiful! REALLY love the monkey fists. Any chance you'll be marketing them?

Because the lace adds more weight, I have to remove the m****t and put in two stronger ones, one on each side. These have to be oriented so they attract the one in the cup, rather than repel it. Except for someone sending me their chop cup, I have no way of telling which side to turn the m****t. I guess I could just put one facing each way to be safe, and that's how they come regularly anyway. So assuming I'm making them like in the last sentence, and that would be ok with people, I could sell them. Don't really know what a fair price would be, so my wife just told me She suggested 10$ for a chop cup set, and 16$ for a set of four. Hmm, I think I could offer a light brown, the dark brown in the picture and a black for now. Now I have to find a source for the core... |

I bow down to your creativity! Alas I'm not a craftsman outside of magic so I buy (almost) everything. Let me know if you get the ball (excuse the pun) rolling and want to sell more than a few sets.

I absolutely love the cups, also love the celtic knotwork you engraved (burned?) into the cups.

Thanks, Cirrus, the knotwork is burned into the cups, at the time I didn't have the tools to carve them in, but I like the look. I'm already planning for a better set hehe
Oh, and to those interested, I have the stuff now to make the balls and the chop balls, I just have to work out the chop strength and the pricing, but my wife is probably going to put them on her Etsy for now. Cheers |
