Well, I warned you, was better you don’t see this, could hurt, but if you insist...Smile

Last month we were talking at this forum about new interesting deceptive approaches to spiker illusion, now let’s go to the “dark side”. I have just watched this video and I know I shouldn’t post this, but couldn’t resist sharing…

I didn't think it was possible for a spiker to look worse that a snap spiker. I guess a congratulations are in order for having the worlds most sh**ty spiker. Maybe that could be a new IMS award category?

Some humor to be had here, but it's really kind of sad.

Forget the Spike gerrrr

How do you get adults to applaud for a silk appearing from a temple screen?

It always amazes, that not only with this illusion, as to what these performers must see when they look at an authentic prop versus their own version of it. In the "old" days you may have only read about an effect and not seen a photo of it, but today you can search and find a photo of virtually any prop or illusion.

I have to wonder what the prop looked like that he copied this illusion prop from!!!!

It's a logical progression. The first knock off can't build it to spec so he makes the base a little thicker. The guy seeing the knock off has the same problem so he too builds the base just a little thicker as well. If this goes on long enough you get a base like the one this guy is using. Smile

So I think I must be missing the effect somehow...

A) Guy who's not good enough to perform at birthday parties waves around an unimpressive prop and boring stuff seemingly comes out of it.

B) Same guy escorts a lady home to her apartment, then tries to burn the place down, but the girl is safe from any harm because she's gone downstairs to the bedroom suite in the basement. Guy opens windows to air the place out. Evidently an alarm must have gone off or something because the girl comes back upstairs and exits the apartment.

Was there supposed to be something magical in this? Maybe it's the language barrier...

Oh gosh...I couldn't watch even up to the halfway point. I'm gonna guess he just uses one woman, though he could've used a chorus line.
