Hi Jan, A friend acquired one for me at FISM. Hugo apparently had a few there. Great unit.

Going by the Ad it looks like Hugo Shelley's Sixth Sense 2.5 and Mind Pad 2.0 are two great devices meant for the real world performer. However MY sixth sense tells me that the prohibitive price tags MIGHT sooner or later encourage a knock-off. Right now these two excellent and extremely practical props need aggressive marketing - Make hay while the sun shines.

Just a quick question if you don't mind John. Is the 2.5 as "quiet" as the promystic reciever? Looks like a solid product and seriously considering here.

Sorry about that. The site isn't properly live yet, more of a preview for people here and for feedback. But you can still pre-order - email PM me here or send an email to the address shown on the order page!

That sounds really promising! What would someone do who does not wear a watch ? Would you have to palm it then in your hand?

There is a basic wrist strap supplied, so if you're wearing long sleeves and no watch it's not a problem. If you're wearing short sleeves and no watch you have to finger palm it, which isn't too hard given the size. A bit of flesh-coloured paint might help avoid flashing it.

Darren to confirm it is very quiet. I stick it under my watch strap, I have a metal band on my watch but it works fine. I would feel comfortable finger palming unit if needed due to the small size.

I agree, child's play can't even remotely compare to SS range wise, no longer are the worries of guys with super thick hands and getting a reading. Since one would never see SS under a watch band, I see no reason for child's play. To boot it also detects heads or tails!

I would like to add that price wise there isn't much of a difference between the two props (CP & SS). Hence if I had to choose I would opt for SS due to its obvious practical advantages over CP.
P.S. For me CP/ SS is not the prop as I have built my own device (for the “which hand” as well as “who has the odd disk” effect) that uses a simple non-ma***tic plastic disc (25mm in diameter X approx 6mm thick). It has a variable manual range setting from 2 inches to 3 feet. This device costs me just $10 to build. However unlike the SS, my device cannot detect Heads or Tails but that is OK with me. This is for info purpose only so that you know that something different also exists. Sorry no PM's please. Thank you for your understanding. This is my last post on this thread. Continue please . . .

I personally have not used Child's Play for a "which hand effect" for a couple years and I am the co inventor. I am sure SS is a very good product and I am not knocking it so please no flames. I use CP with the marbles and bag as a karasuke effect. Probably about 50% of my act uses electronics of some sort. The one effectI get the most comments on is the "Marble Rrick" as it is called. I think I perform more "wow" factor magic than the karasuke one but I still get the most comments on the "marble trick" as the spectators call it. People go out of their way to say how much they like it and how they can't figure it out.
Why do I say all this? Well, if I were performing a which hand effect I would probably use SS myself but for a karasuke effect CP would be the better bet in my opinion. Please note I said my opinion. So I guess it all depends on what effect you are performing. Ron |

Thanks for all the reply's, I've always been a big fan of the which hand type effects. When presented properly, it really has a great impact on the spectator, especially if you use it as a lead into another effect of the same nature.

I'll be honest, I'm a bit annoyed about this new SS 2.5 having bought 2.0 about 3 months ago through a uk online magic shop (which had excellent customer service by the way as did Hugo with my questions) It's a great effect but if I'd have know the new one was coming out I'd have waited. Now I either stick with what I have & perform a routine which I know could be improved upon by knowing if the coin is heads or tails OR I sell on what I have 2nd hand for which Hugo will not get the payment he rightly deserves for creating such a great device & use the money to buy the upgrade.

I received my 2.5 today and must say that I'm very impressed. I'm currently using a ring and the disstance of the signal is fantastic. The unit it self is very quiet and perfect size. I have yet to road test it as I just got it today and by road testing, I mean on an actual real audience rather then family. I hope to give it a go next week or so but will say that so far, I'm very happy.
