Hey guys,
I'm building the Hospitality effect in Jim Steinmeyers book -Modern Art and othe Mysteries. I've built it to the size in the book, but every time I load the gimmick with the glass and lower it tips forward spilling the liquid, any Ideas how I can stop this? Pm me or email (info@davidmajor.co.uk) if needed thanks Dave |

You mean the whole prop tips forward or inside the prop the gimmick that holds stuff tips forward?

If it's built to the correct specifications, the problem probably lies in the cups.
Taller cups,less liquid.
What do we want?
A cure for tourettes! When do we want it? C*nt! |

To say 10oz glasses, is using a broad definition. A 10oz rocks glass and a 10oz collins glass are completely different animals. Could this be the issue?

Ah ok well here is a link for the tumblers I use. They are just over 4inch high and just under 3 inches wide

I'm not familiar enough with the trick to know what glass works best, but my statement was merely to back up what Ray said. I'm sure you'll eventually get this solved.

Sounds like the gimmick is top heavy or not fitting tight enough in the channels.
Enlarge the gimmick holes and use less liquid. J |

It looks like to me, it is those strangely shaped and tapered glasses are the problem. Does these glasses fit the holes without any space around them?

Hi Guys, I've managed to sort the problem now, it was the aluminium angle there was a gap between the sliding gimmick and the angle, therefore letting the gimmick twist.
Thanks for your help. |

Glad to hear that you solved it! The info will probably be helpful to someone else deciding to make one down the road.
