This has become a favorite of mine. The wand itself gets great laughs but so does the nesting bags. The two together never fail to get huge laughs! Another winner from Tommy.

I LOVE Tommy's Kerplunk wand! I have recenty put together a completely new routine using it in conjunction with a changing bag and a colouring book. And then I go on to a whole extravaganza with a ton of coloured silks, a breakaway wand, and a silver sceptre all in the one routine. But Tommy's wand takes a major place in the whole sequence which lasts about 10 to 15 minutes or so! I could probably market the whole *** thing if I was clever enough to do so!

It's also incredibly robust - I've used mine in nearly every show for the under-7s for several years. By now, I'd have expected the foil on the tips to have started to peel off, or otherwise small repairs required - but the wand is still almost like brand new!
Love Randy's idea of letting the tip fall into a pocket, so simple! In my opinion, this is significantly better than the breakaway wand - both more entertaining and more magical, not to mention BW wands are the staple of every beginner in our field - whereas the Ker-Plunk wand is new, very rare (at least in my area), and a lot more expensive. The bags have perished, though. The fabric is very "stringy", and gets caught on the wand mechanism...over time, this shreds the bags. I could easily have some new bags made, which no doubt I'll do sometime. They add a nice bit of business, but in all honesty, it's a little weak, even though the kids react well enough. I feel that more often than not, it's milking the audience unnecessarily, but once in a while, when the kids are really in a frenzy, the extra business plays well. |

The bags need to made of different material, so that they last longer.
I recall seeing Danny La Rue in panto, removing about thirty sets of underwear. The audience was falling apart. I think this bit of business would be stronger if there were a LOT more bags - maybe 15 or more. That could increase the pace, and the excitement. Just 3 bags is somehow falling between two stools. |

A tip for some that might not know. If the edge of a piece of fabric is becoming "stringy", then you can use a product called "Fray Stop" on it. It's like a solvent / glue, that binds the edge of the fabric.
This product is available at most fabric stores, and also places like Michaels Craft Store and WalMart. Maybe Tommy will make changes to future products, but this is a solution for those with the bags on hand now. - Donald

The reason the bags were made from Satin was so they slide easily in and out of each other. I'm still using the original set of bags from when I first introduced the wand.

I just want to say a huge "Thank you" to Tommy for his outstanding customer service, when my Ker-Plunk wand had a small problem that needed fixing. He resolved the issue immediately, going far and beyond anything I could have expected or hoped for.
I've never encountered customer service like this from any company, or individual anywhere! It's great to know that when you purchase one of Tommy's products, he stands behind it 100%. Some of the best products on the market, and the best customer service ANYWHERE! Thanks a million, Tommy, you're a real star! |

Me too, Randy. I love that it's a bit pricey for beginners, so it remains somewhat exclusive. Tommy's products are truly exceptional! I wish he'd put his prices up, so they're in line with other similar quality products in our industry, to be honest....

Randy, I'm with you. I actually start every show with it. It's a fantastic way to get the audience going immediately, pal. I missed you, when I was doing a show in Canada, but hopefully, I get out you're way, next time> Actually, they just booked me to come to Canada to lecture, and I believe it's going to be closer to you. I will be back there, in November.

I have had the Ker-Plunk wand for a few years now and love it! I was concerned about dropping it on the floor but it has held up well. I retired to the Philippines and most floors are bare cement or hard packed dirt, occasionally ceramic tile - no carpet. All very hard surfaces... But the wand has been great! I use the glue bottle with string to help put the wand back together. Always good for a laugh.
I also bought Tommy's production bag and use it to produce the invisible deck. They toss me the deck and I catch in the production bag. Very good feedback. |

Just received my Ker-Plunk wand and am working on the routine. As said by others, the wand is well made and comes with a short but comprehensive instruction sheet giving all the information you require. The bags were also hemmed well inside so fraying of the material should not be an issue. Looking forward to using this in the act, thank-you Tommy.
