That was fantastic - I loved it! One of the best effects of the whole show was when Jimmy turned into a Smurf...

G'day Devious
Thanks for another great bit of video.
I continue to be inspired by Jimmy's application of the art in his performances.
This is a good example of his philosophy etc from the blog and book put into practice.

Commented on your site, but thought I'd chime in here too.

Well done! It was nice to see Jimmy's performance from start to finish, draw through hat. Your angle work was perfect (in the crowd during pull, magician's POV during show/hat) and gave both perspectives. Color filters were a little... odd, but I can see where you were coming from by using them. Black and white or sepia tone would give a nice feel to it as well.

Bravissimo, hermano. Bravissimo.

Now come out and film me on pitch; I want the star treatment too! *grin*

I have to agree, something to learn here. What is great is that you are
seeing the show from the beginning. Most of the time you only see shows
that already have a crowd. Yet here, though there is one small group
already watching, you essentially see how Jimmy builds.

The filming helps here, I think, as I can't say the crowd is formed by
the "Blaine Effect". What I mean, is that, cameras (especially the bigger ones)
tend to attract the crowd. To me, that gives a false sense of what
is going on, but here I suspect this is hand held and Dev is walks around
like a tourists and does not join the edge until one is formed...

I see vendors at tables so I am suspecting that this was some form of
festival or market.

What take aways does one see here that could help your show?

Devious, thanks again for filming this and to Jimmy for allowing you to share it with us.

It was quite an education to see it from start to finish.

This is a great video. My street show has got a lot better and it thanks to Jimmy book. One thing this video has really shown me is the idea of don't rush to start build the crowd. They will wait and they will stop. Thank you Devious. And the next tie you see Jimy tell hime we love the video and it inspires us and keep up the hard work.
Enjoy your magic,

and let others enjoy it as well!

Hey D,

Thanks for sharing this, love Jimmys' work. Spent a summer in London with him so long ago. Gracious, giving, and great to 'hang' with.
Tried leaving a comment on your blog, but couldn't log in, my iPhone is all I have for now.

Just a thought... Integrate Facebook comments, it could help drive traffic to your site.

Just a thought.

Thanks again, enjoyed watching a legend at wok once more...

I read Jimmy's book long ago and can not find it..man, so much to learn from that one book! A great resource. His blog and website is what has inspired me the most over most any other performers site I go to...this is the REAL deal.

Thanks for the updates and know that this will be in the long-run one of the most inspired performers that impacts this and other communities in a long time.

Jimmy's a dear personal friend of mine, and has been since before he was a busker. It's nice to see people liking him here.

And yay, now I can see his show any time I like.
