Hey Devious,
thanks for the nice clip.
You know, I wonder about Jimmy sometimes....
for years he wrote and thought and rambled and talked a lot,..
then,..
poof....!

I've kind of noticed it thru the years,
guys come,
and,...
they can't be held back(!),..
then they vanish,
like the dust of two fingers snapping.

I don't know,..
I've come to wonder about the stability of most,...
the motivations,..
the heart.

,winter thoughts.

If Jimmy's not around, it's because he's too busy working.

I've seen him in person maybe twice in the last three years, because he travels so much, but he hasn't stopped busking, not by a long shot. He's always prepared to work. Literally always.

I think it's more like he promoted himself hard until the ball got rolling, and has been riding the snowball since then. A guy who works it all day every single day like he does can't be expected to find as much time for other things as some of the rest of us.

I've only met Jimmie once, in NOLA. He was pitching behind the counter at that "magic shop" in the mall at the RIVERWALK. He was busy. so we didn't talk long.
(The first thing you learn as a carny is: jackpotting is OK, but don't stand in front of the ticket box!

I like the way he works!

Dick, I used to work there too, if we're talking about the same place. The one that went vacant after Hurricane Katrina? Or is this something new that I'm oblivious of? Seems we might have had some near misses in meeting. XD I do still look forward to running into you someday.

And yeah, Jimmy can sell magic like it's water in the desert. Actually, he could sell just about anything, I think. The first time I met him was after hearing about his salesmanship skills, and I thought it was all being blown out of proportion. I was so wrong.

And don't let the performing persona fool you; he's an extremely well-spoken, well-read, intelligent individual. The "Forrest Gump" bit is proof of it. Only a consummate actor with mad skills could pull it off like he does.

It's one of my fondest wishes that one day I'll overhear my future grandchildren talking about him, and be able to tell them the story of how I met him back in the olden days and how we were friends. Even if they tell me they don't believe me, I'll still know.

Hmm,..
I always liked the kind,
who 'wonder out loud',
'do' openly...
'develope',...
then 'share experiences'... openly, as well.
I believe, in the end,..
it's our Stories,
our Stories,
that we have to offer,..
our 'earnings',..
our 'treasure'.
,...if we don't share them,..
they become 'buried treasures'.

I know, Magic is a 'Business of Secrets',.
and "our business is nobody elses business",...
I just like folks who take it to a level,..
and remember where they came from.

People who are too busy working,
ARE too busy.

Yeah, I can see that. An awful lot of really beautiful things are lost when nobody shares them with anyone.

It's why I've been writing my own book. If I can ever get over feeling like it would be arrogant and presumptuous of me to publish a book, I'd be sharing an awful lot of cool stories.

Just because we're busy, and just because we think nobody will care, doesn't mean our stories shouldn't be shared with those who might like to hear/read them.

Jimmy has told me countless times that he loves me like a brother because when everyone else was against him and telling him he was doing it all wrong, I was the one who told him to go for it and it'd make or break him, regardless of others' opinions.

His enthusiasm and creativity are like few I've seen or met possess. Nothing is an obstacle to him, and it's really refreshing.

I remember the appearing banana opener he used to do; I showed it to him as my appearing jumbo coin and sold him the coin, because I was broke and hungry, and he took it and ran with it. And made the broke and hungry a moot point, because a banana is way cheaper to replace than a jumbo coin, and you can eat it. Plus, people can relate to it, it's got the common touch.

That was sheer genius. "And look, if I get hungry, I can just eat it!"

Szymon, just as a few have stated, you can learn from the way
Jimmy's show flows here...best of luck to you out there guy!

p.s. Please excuse the colour filters used, pot being legal in California et al.

That was fun to watch. He lured them in and did a great show. Talented performer, for sure.
