Below is the photo story of a master creation by James Manalli. I received him several months ago however, he wasn't displayed as he wasn't properly attired. He still isn't.
Seeing this figure develop from a block of wood was simply amazing. While James most likely won't be able to continue to do so (with all the works he's going have), he sent numerous progress reports and pixs. The workmanship was second to none and the mechanics are very smooth. It got the highest praise from those who saw it at Vent Haven. James is sure to become known as one of the top figure makers still doing it the old fashion way, hammer and mallet and producing masterful creations. Stay tuned for final dressing. |

The Force is definitely with this guy, and, of course with Jim! I'm looking forward to seeing him fully attired (the figure that is).

Neale - I thought the same thing at first, but realized it's the big nose.
Donald - he looks great! (And shame on you for not sharing with us sooner costumed or not!) Jim - I don't know what else to say, just outstanding, and showing that you can create any look, whether it's a classic figure like mine or something different like Donald's or something I think of as in-between in Keith's figure.

VERY nice work.
No question about it...this is a _very_ good time to be vent. So much choice when it comes to figures, and so much _great_ choice. Keep it up, Jim! We're seeing the next generation!

James, there you go.
Acknowledgement from the highest. I'm proud to be the owner of this figure and hope others will soon own your fine figures. |

I think anyone that gets an opportunity to own one of Jim's figures is going to be likewise proud, I know I am.
BTW, I was going to mention earlier I noticed the legs - this is going to be a standing figure it looks like? Okay, I got to ask, what does the shirt say, I can only see the "100% hilarious" and "human" - can't tell what the last word is.

I love seeing this! It's so amazing to see the process! Unless someone is a builder, they don't realize how much goes into making a piece of wood into a (almost) living, breathing thing!
Nice work and thanks for the progress pics! Damien |

Thank you everyone for your very kind comments.
I take a complemennt from Mr. Semok as very encouraging. Thank you. Donald sent me sneak previews of the figure in costuming stage and he is doing fantastic work. I can't wait to see him when the costume is complete. Jim |
