Hi folks,

I'd like to ask a question of those of you who perform silk through mic regularly, what reel are you using or have you found to be the best for this routine and what are the features that you consider make it so?

I have two reels, one is flesh coloured and has the two prong protrusion for ease of holding, once the thread is out you can keep it from retracting by actively holding a button down. However this one doesn't seem to have the 'oomph' that I want. The second one I own is black (I think it might even be one of those office pass holder reels), when the thread is out the reel is automatically locked and retracts when a button is pressed. This one is lacking the prongs and is therefore more difficult to hold and it is also insanely loud.

I'd really like to hear from the working guys and girls who perform this and I'd appreciate any recommendations you could make.

Many thanks
Zuke

Since posting the above question I have found a thread with some ideas along this line. I'll include the link here for others that may be interested.
