One Handed Top Palm
Hot Shot Cut Ricky Jay's one handed flick to spin the top card out (don't know what it's called but it's great) And another similar flick-the-card-out move (but with the thumb) that I learned from Greg Wilson

I'm still learning that one. I'm still quite slow at it.

I like the snowshoe cut, where the card comes spinning out of the deck during the one handed cut.

I forgot to mention the "Bevan utility shift". Its move the allows you to move the top card to bottom of the deck and flip it upside down. You can use it as:
a) a visual vanish of a card. b) a colour change c) reversal (obviously) I use it at the end of a routine where the selection (a blue card in a red deck) vanishes from the top of the deck as you ribbon spread the cards! |

My unique variation of a 1 hand traingle cut false...which would then deal off the 4 aces or such.

O let me see... I think my favorite would be the pivot from front palm to back palm. I'm no good at it, I don't do manipulation much except for my own amusement but I do love playing with it.

I love the Charlier Pass to get two cards together or done twice with a crimp as a false shuffle.
Looks good and gets the job done. |

I love the pop out move also but I never managed to get it down as I would have liked. I do a two handed variant which isn't as effective but cute nonetheless.

Ooh the one handed popover. I'm darned if I can get that bottom card angle-jogged. Any clues?

I'm playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order.

The onehanded pop out, for me, I had trouble with getting the card to stay in the middle of the pack after its out. my problem was that, after I get it angle-jogged, when I tried to pop it out, it kept flying out instead of staying between the packets,... And if I pop it out rite, then I can't angle jogg properly.
Then I realized that if you change grips slightly, after the angle jog, you shoudl be able to get it out easier and angle jogged easier.... I think it would be a personnal thing, but I use a light and shallow grip onthe cards to angle jog, then I move the deck up deeper into the palm, then put my third finger rite in, and pop... o and on a side note, I actually cut the deck first, and then angle jog, I found it easier, at least for me... Cheers, ///AMG

Moisten your 2nd and 3rd fingertips of the hand doing the pop out move. That helped me.

I vote for ULTRA MOVE
I have used Harry Lorayne's ULTRA MOVE with great success in a routine by Allan Ackerman, don't remember the name (of the routine) but I think it's in Best of Friends vol 1.. maybe Ultra Aces?! |
