If you were to do one of the 2 what would you pick?

For what type of performance?
If you do table hopping or any form of venue where you need to perform briefly and constantly change your working spot, use the Chop cup If you can remain at the same place and have the time allocated for performing a more complete show, go for the classic C&Bs As always, what should rule your choice is neither your preference or your comfort, it is the audience and its entertainment pleasure

Hard to answer as it can really depend on how we define them.
That may sound like it would be obvious, but are we limiting "Shop" cup to a single gimmicked cup routine, or do we include ungaffed single cup routines? What constitutes a "cup?" Many incorporate a shot glass, but that would usually be still considered a chop cup routine. However I've seen Mark Jenest do a great routine with a chop mug, a shot glass, AND a jigger. Is the inclusion of that one extra "cup" like object all that it takes to move it from "chop cup" to "cups and balls?" Does this limit a chop cup routine to a max of two cup like objects before it becomes a cups and balls routine with a gimmicked cup? There are many 2 cup routines we would certainly consider C&B routines, but would they be considered chop cup routines if at least one of the cups were gaffed? Or do the "cups" have to be incongruous with each other? Or, does one have to be a shot glass, or shot glass like object? To be honest, I think most of the routines we are likely to have seen would be rather clearly classified as one or the other, however, there are certainly at least a few exceptions.

If you go Gdw's way don't overlook Scott Guinn's two cups routine for table hopping (with one chop cup and one regular cup)

I consider my own routine to be a C&B routine, however many would call it a chop cup routine.

I technically also have a more "classical" C&B routine, however I never use it.
