I've seen a lot of Bizarre props on video lately but in performance they are received as "Funny" rather than truly Paranormal. Is no one even attempting to give a "Real" performance anymore?

I know it's far easier to just take the easy way out and laugh about everything, and don't get me wrong, Tommy Cooper is my Hero, but when it comes to Bizarre Magik I thought many more would take the time and exert the effort to make things at least appear genuine. Is it too much work? Or am I missing the right video's?

The beauty of bizarre is that it does not have to be scary. I agree that realism should be a bit more on a lot of the props but then that is really up to the performer and his use of scripting. I lean more to dark and realistic but I know some that gave great performance with bizarre comedy.

I honestly don't want to give the wrong impression. I respect many of the performers I've been watching and I don't want to "Knock" any of them. I realize there are many levels of entertainment and diving to the deepest levels of reality isn't every ones Cup of Tea.

I think most on here, are confusing 'Story Telling'magic, with 'Bizarre Magick'!
Like having Q&A,with a bell ?
I can contact JTR,in a seance?
In a seance,a spirit will contact you! You will not know whom they are, till they get there, and they will lie, too!
I can't contact people on a phone,but I can contact a chosen spirit ???
I could rant on and on,about this!
I have thought the same about, videos I have seen on here!
They are doing a so called bizarre show, and the participants are on stage laughing.
Looks like Comedy Magic,There is a time to lighten up the act,and give them a rollercoaster ride,I will give the funny, not my props!
This is... JMO !

lots of fun bizarre routines there on those links. they do have a dark tinge but not all doom and gloom. I prefer the darker presentations with a strong realistic plot as well but when I make the routines presentable for families I tend to lighten it up a lot so that the norms do not run screaming. it really depends on the setting I'm in what type of presentation I will use.

The above first link! In all fairness,I just read the 'Vampire Bat'!

Do you really consider that as,Bizarre ?

The other stuff may be much better, but I did not read!

Peter has been a bizarre performer for many years, its not for me to define it for everyone. just to make my personal space in the field. EUGENE POINC also did some light hearted pieces.

Slim, my work walks that edge of creepy, funny, and potentially real.
Sorry I have no full routines for you on video, but my promo reels might give you a taste. Click on the links below.

I have a set of seven routines, the middle routine is pure comedy (but the props for the comedy routine are still in keeping with the era of the other props I am using) and I don't make any effort to making things "at least appear genuine." I make things entertaining. I leave it up to my audience to decide how paranormal the effects were. I don't believe in the paranormal. But at the same time I don't diminish the effects because of my belief.
