I am looking for 18 inch silks for the holidays, one for Halloween, thanksgiving, Easter and a happy holidays to all silk, etc.
I tried some on line shops and Laflin too, Any help would be great, I have a really nice production box, more of a tube that I am not using, the production of a themed silk seems to make sense, Thanks Dave |

As the magicians's silk importer, I hate letting you know that good China printed silks are a going away thing. Rice and P&A no longer print. Custom work is what is left. That tends to be too expensive for free shows.
Never overlook the advantage of making your personal graphic silks with Sharpie Pens. It works well! I've been using them for about four decades. Catch me at my silk lecture some time and I'll show you how. There are threads here on The Magic Café about this. Bob |

Bob, How did you know about my free shows???
Great idea to make my own, it just made me think of those guys in the malls that air brush what ever you want on a shirt or jacket, with some inexpensive silks from the local magic shop I can have them made pretty cheap, now I just need to find these guys. |

Wiz Kid Qua-Fiki's e-Book called "Fish or Cut Bait" has a section in it from me (he was taking final exams or some teen-age thing) showing step-by-step (with photos) how to draw on and then color in silks that were used for that effect that might encourage you to give it a try. Everything you need to get to "do-it-yourself" is shown as well as on-line sources for the dyes, etc. The process is pretty simple and once you make your first fully colored silk and see it come out of the wash still as bright as the day you painted it, you'll not feel shy about making more for the various themes and seasons you described.

I have been in magic a long time, and I do not remember any other holiday silks ever being made available to the magic community. Not to say, there are none, but I have not ran across any as of yet.

Tommy James makes message silk banners. He sells a "Happy Birthday", "Happy Halloween", and will be selling a "Merry Christmas" shortly. He said on another thread that he might consider doing a "Happy Holidays" next year. https://www.tommyjamesmagic.com/store/index.php
As to picture silks, P&A Silks used to make some. http://www.pasilks.com/index2.html You kind of have to poke around the site a bit to find them. Design silks are also on the blendo bag pages, etc. There was a Happy Holidays as well as Merry Christmas, Frankie the Snowman as well as Mismade Santa Claus, Happy Halloween silk (drawing of a witch with some bats, and a moon in the background... moon looks like a Jack-o-lantern face), etc. I'm not sure about their availability, now that Peter has passed away. http://www.pasilks.com/ I haven't seen an Easter or Thanksgiving themed silk. Although there are a lot of different rabbit silks out there, so that is a fit for Easter. Some of the sites I like to look at, when it comes to silks, are Wonder Imagery, David Ginn, Richard Hughes, Laflin Magic, Practical Magic, etc. - Donald P.S. Richard Hughes sells a Mismade Jack-o-Lantern silk set, as well as a 20th Century Ghost set. Posted: Oct 21, 2012 12:21pm I did see this last night, but I don't know anything about this http://stores.silkmagictricks.com/-strse......tail.bok online store, you can't really see really clearly what's on the silks (are they all mixed up, or are some normal?), and they are very small silks. - Donald

I have handpainted a lot of different silks. The mismade skelton set, a Duke Dye Version with a Jack O lantern streamer, 20th Century Ghosts, Mennorah sets. and many others.
If you have some designs in mind, I can quote you a price if I feel it something I want to do. Right now I am pretty booked up and you need to plan well in advance as these things take time. Also sometimes, I don't like how they turn out so I repaint them. Richard

Whoever edited my (second) post, to blend them together, accidently removed my link. I had to send a note to put the link back. The post / link is still not exactly the way I had it, but close enough.
Please note that those Mixed Up Holiday Silks are only 8" in size. That's small! - Donald

There's a guy in the UK who used to advertise regularly in the British Ring IBM 'Budget' magazine. He would create any custom design that you might require. He made a couple of silk designs for me and his work was excellent.
I've checked the Budgets that I have lying in drawers round the house and he appears to have stopped advertising. (maybe there wasn't enough interest?) However if you contact the magazine's editor (Stephen Tucker) he might be able to help you.

P & A made some quality holiday silks, I have the Halloween one and Christmas - I believe they are 36 inches.
You can see the Halloween on being used in the brief video below, I used it all month in my Halloween shows. I will be filming a neat Christmas magic video shortly and will use the Christmas one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9A4zx4rIYc&feature=plcp Chuck Caputo |

Has anybody ever seen a Snowflake silk? I am thinking of making this the final l**d in my silk fountain and then transitioning to a finale of the Snowstorm.

...especially if sold as a set! Okay, Dave...we need to go into business! LOL. We could even make sure we have silks for all the holidays OUTSIDE the US.
I had thought as an alternative, to switch from the snowstorm to the Butterfly Blizzard. I already have a 36" butterfly silk, so that would be perfect...but the story I use for the snowstorm is so emotionally charged that I hate to give it up.

I mentioned above that P&A used to make a "Frankie the Snowman" silk set (much like their "Mismade Santa").
Another Snowman silk set is available from Tim Sonefelt (Wonder Imagery): --> Jozo Bozo's Mismade Snowman That might be as close as you'll get to a snowflake silk. - Donald
