Can anyone tell me if these are basically the same illusion?
Abbott's Girl Vanish http://abbottmagic.com/Girl-Vanish-Abbot......oryId=-1 Osborne Cane Cabinet http://hamiltonholtinc.stores.yahoo.net/canecabineet.html I'm assuming the Osborne version relies on the steps, based on the illustration, but there is no mention of steps in either illusion. There is a 33 dollar difference in instant download plans. I don't mind to pay the extra for the Osborne if they're worth $33 more. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the Abbott's Plans, and would recommend them over the Osborne plans. Abbott's includes the step plans as well.
I always wanted to build this, but never did, it sounds like a fun illusion to present with some good acting, and interaction with the assistant. So many ways to present this, modern, ragtime, or as a small skit between magician and assistant. I believe this also leads to not necessarily have to use music if the skit/playlet idea is expanded on in the presentation. With all the light weight materials available today, it can be made to travel easily, I am thinking of the box, not the steps. It will need a climax to bring the girl back, in the audience, or another appearance illusion. It could also be a transposition of the girl effect, if you have enough assistants to work out the staging. |

Thanks so much guys!
Bill, the skit idea is great... Though about using it with a blammo.

I purchased the abbott plan tonight. I hope to start building it later in the year.

The plans hold a relatively small girl..
MAKE SURE you build them out of cardboard first.. there are LOTS of subtleties to making those steps look better.. As the plans stand now.. the steps are VERY poorly designed for a modern audience.. |
