Yeah, sorry, Magicsquared- "Bending the Real" is the one that I was thinking of when I said that. "22 Blows" was pretty good. "Divided Attention" is the one I was talking about with the word list. That works for me real good. And I just checked out "Memory Lapse", and that does look very nice indeed! Sankey certainly can be a Magic Genius. But lately...
Like I said, I do have several Sankey effects in my current performing repertoire. Glenn- Very interesting about Pivothead. I liked your Shell Game performance. So lets see what Jay did with this! |

Honestly, my first thought was, "Did Jay find a small video camera in a Johnson Smith catalog and order a bunch to put this out?"
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

OK my first question its this wireless OK...what type of storage is it using for the video? What's the quality? Because if its any type of high quality video special raw before put through a codec the file is going to be huge. If there not storage system then that just means to me it's not a complete system and another priece of equipment I have to buy....

"Students and fans all over the world contacted me, raving about how much they had learned from the YouTube videos."
Sankey can be contacted? That would be an amazing feat in itself. Sounds interesting may have a look at this. There would be no legal issues if you were never caught, and according to Sankey he has never been caught. I would love to see his performances that flopped also and how he handled it.
The great trouble with magicians is the fact that they believe when they have bought a certain trick or piece of apparatus, and know the method or procedure, that they are full-fledged mystifiers. -- Harry Houdini

I had my doubts because of who's releasing it. Reputations matter. But honestly, how can I not buy something personally endorsed by Marcel Proust?

My main feel with a lot of recent Sankey stuff is that these ideas aren't beyond the wit of anyone- do we need spoon feeding everything ! The idea that you can record a performance and learn from it is nothing new , I do it all the time. Videoing the spectator feels as though it may have some value -- in your excitement, nervousness whilst performing you may miss the odd learning point but in reality is it going to be much considering most of the time you should be looking at them anyway. I think this feels like another half-formed idea and we'll only know how good it is when you see Jays accompanying note -- if its a micro camera with a pamphlet like Booyah then its just another quick money making scheme. Time will tell-- as will the cost. |

My brother bought me one of these a few years ago...
http://www.thehut.com/electronics/camcor......odJXUA5g I never thought to use it to record spectators reactions. I tried it out last night. Very interesting to see the reactions of the spectators and where they are looking as you perform. Sankey could be onto a winner here but the pen I used, clipped into my breast pocket, worked a treat so I wonder what value Sankey's device adds?

Hmmm - interesting idea, anyway. And totally different as a product than anything Sankey has put out before. I'll wait to see the price point, and the level and format of instruction that comes with it. And whether it is compatible with Apple products.
Now appearing nightly in my basement.

Glen, that was smooth. I was never that interested in learning the three shell game, but your performance is tipping me to the other side of the fence.

(FYI, I put together the above posted routine just 16 days from the first day I started playing with the shells...proof that very quick progress is possible) If you're interested in learning more, please visit my website or PM me to keep this thread on topic. Take it from a guy suckered into Sankey's "BooYah" Halloween crap. I wouldn't trust the hype.

Personally I think this is actually a great idea for personal improvement, especially in a close up environment. I have never really been dissapointed by Jay in the past but at the same time, I have only bought a couple of his products, not to mention he is a great person with a great personality(met him a few years back) I know there is a camera that acts/looks like a button on a shirt/jacket. Not saying this is it but I will say that the one I have seen would be perfect for this type of idea.

As this is not a magic item, per se, it may be a good idea to check around to see how Jay's compares with comparable items - no doubt there are many similar devices available.
Maybe Yigal Mesika can bring a "Spider Pen Pro PLUS" to market (reel plus camera!).
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

I doubt you'll be able to find the same thing cheaper. Why would you anyway, after Sankey has invested thousands of dollars to find exactly the right product for us. Surely he should benefit in some way?

This is the one I own. It's a button spy cam, and hides really well, and it's cheap.
Here's where I bought mine from. http://www.soooogo.com/button-spy-camera......408.html This new HQ video model of our popular button spy camera line is so small that it can fit inside a chewing gum package, cigarette box, or DIY to any button up shirt for the ultimate in undetectable covert surveillance. While small in size, it makes up for it with technique. This model spy cam records directly to your TF card in 352x288-3GP video with 30 FPS and high quality mono AMR channel audio, giving you the best results you have ever seen from a hidden surveillance DVR of this size. PRICE: $46 US You might even be able to find cheaper ones.
