Quick question, what is your favorite close up routine (aka with small items)? Also, where could I learn it from if it is available on the market
I'm trying to add some good routines into my magic so just looking for some inspirations, so just want to hear some opinions |

Gypsy Thread, it's in a few books and DVDs. it's in one of Eugene Burger's books and DVDs. There's also a World's greatest magic DVD on the Gypsy Thread.

A coin across routine - 3 FLY III by Daryl for example.
Its the rules by Bob Sheets is nice. If you give us more of a clue if what you already do and want to do I could help more. Also have a look at the 3 DVD by Darly its called Follor dollor. Here to help
Enjoy your magic,

Check out David Penn's Secrets Of Street Magic. There is good material on this dvd that is simple and commercial.

One of my favorites:
I walk up to a person/group of people: 1. Kapps Fire Wallet: Pull out Kapps fire wallet saying "you know how sometimes money just burns a hole in your wallet? 2. Extremem Burn: I pull out extreme burn and turn 5's into 100's saying "Luckily I know how to just exchange to larger bills using magic" 3. Ignition: I need these powers because its so easy for bills to get damaged (key through bill) 4. Tarantula: I simply float the undamaged bill from bottom hand to top for an extra visual 5. Killer Key: I take another key off chain and perform killer key (Sankey)while my keys are out from ignition 6. 3 Ring Circus: Put focus of attention on key rings and do a mini linking rings routine 7. Lubors Lens: Somewhere within this routine I also pull out the Lubor's Lens with a great tale (My Uncle jst came back from Africa and said a tribe gave him this piece of plastic but to be very careful with it as it contained inexplicable powers ... patter patter patter. Anyways .. this is one of my fav routines that stay within a theme of keys/money and fries everyone. You WILL get a nice tip. I have a very nice card routine that I may post later which incorporates, Ultra Gum, CHOP, tagged, Lit, In a Flash and more. |

Send a request to gusarimagic@comcast.net for a copy of "Sleight and the Family Stone" with many effects with small objects -- with techniques that can be applied to many "found" objects for true impromptu or close-up. No charge, but a commitment to feedback is required.
When you learn these principles and handlings you will be launched an innovation to perform anywhere/anytime without carrying gaffs or set-ups.

I do a one by one four queen production where the deck vanishes halfway. (Daniel Madison’s DVD)
I then do Twisting the Aces (or queens for that matter) (this can be found in a million different places) I then do a Doc Daily's Aces transpo routine. (Learned it from Mark Wilsons Book) Then I do turning heads By Steve Beam (Card Magic USA Book from Vanishing Inc I use queens, I call them my girlfriends, and as I go through the routine I have a lot of misogynistic, jokes, and inappropriate humor. However I save that patter for my work at Bars and tables who like that style of humor. Otherwise I have other patter I use for family friendly performances.

For amazing "killer" effects I strongly recommend the Books of Wonder. Not only is Tommy Wonders' attention to detail beyond the realm of OCD the effects are stunning. These books are also complimented by the Wonder DVD "Visions of Wonder" (don't just get the DVD. either get both or just the books) One in particular that I use in restaurants is the "Tamed Card". Tommy's version of Wild Card. Truly remarkable!

Doing magic with ordinary objects is becoming more my style now-a-days. Although I have an immense amount of cards effects, spectators are evolving and becoming desensitized to cards which is why when a magician comes up to a table and pulls out a deck of cards at times there's a big sigh, like "Okay .. get it over with Mr. annoying so we can get back to our conversation". So Ive been doing a lot of tricks mentioned above. Get "On the Spot" dvd's with Gregory Wilson. I do his 3/4's across and a few others. Coins are becoming my friends, something I never thought would happen. So, here are a few of my fav's of recent using small objects, as per your request:
1. Killer key (Sankey), Copper Silver Transpo, anything with a TT, Ignition. |

Chink A Chink: there is always some props that allow us to perform it whever we are and in the most impromptu situations. So nothing to carry it but make a good script and rehearse a good acting for your character working the timing and the pauses for this trick is too good to be damaged by amateurs in a hurry.
Magic is the art of emotionally sharing live impossible situations
