Greetings, my friend! Here's something to talk about: given the audience's jaded perspective on live performance art in general in our time (comparing the amount of "going to the theatre" back then to "let's play video games" now), how do you feel mentalism strikes the average audience member, given that the first question out of the mouth of a person (when I've told them that I was a magician) was usually "Oh? Do you do kids' shows?", and now that I am a mentalist is "Oh? Are you a psychic?" or "Really? Then, what am I thinking?"

Always the pot-stirrer,

Lee

Currently, I am one of three acts in a show of "Magic, Comedy and Mystery". The other two are magic acts with lots of comedy and one has some illusions in it. Then there's me, the "Mindreader and Unconventional Magician". The audience has no idea what to expect when I come out as the second act but I find they do warm to me quickly and thoroughly enjoy my act. The feed-back forms on the back of the programs that we have received have rave reviews. Overall, I have found that audiences in my part of the world enjoy the theatre as magic idea. Perhaps that is because they are relatively rare events here.

MAKING MENTALISM MORE IMPOSSIBLE

Well, let's face it, Chris: they warm to you because of who you are. Having met you, I know of your charm and wit, and, having seen enough bad magicians, I know that you are NOT a poorly rehearsed illusionist or lounge act, but a finely-tuned performer! Plus, you offer something other than the "standard" magic acts: mentalism (which is hard to come by, moreso here than in the States and Europe).

Can you post comments/reviews about your show, and give some more details?
