I'm new here and I hope that my question is not off topic.
Having traveled all over the world, I really enjoyed the multi culturalism that I have seen. However, in some culture, there are strong religious or traditional beliefs that may seen mentalism for what it is not.

Did you had bad experiences with some audience who got freaked out and left the show or threatened you with 'bad spells'?

In my weekly walk-around gig I have run across a few who seemed to strongly resent my "power", but no one has ever threatened me with a "bad spell". Two other times I have had spectators break down sobbing hysterically. One was a Wiccan (who usually really like my stuff) and the other was a devout Christian. With the latter, I had asked her to write the name of someone they wished could be with them at the event but could not. I looked into a mirror and started a "hot read" and when I blew on the mirror and said the name, she collapsed. Apparently, the person I had just named had committed suicide two weeks earlier. I understand that in China natives are not permitted to perform mentalism style effects. Apparently, foreigners can.
