This from the Magic Circle website this morning:
It is with great sadness and regret that I have to inform Members that our former President, Alan Shaxon MIMC, passed away in the early hours of this morning. Alan will be remembered for his warmth, integrity and above all, his inspirational professionalism. I am sure all Members of The Society will join me and the Council of The Magic Circle in sending our deepest sympathy and affection to his wife Anne and his family. Sad to hear the news.
Mr. Shaxon was a headliner at the IBM National Convention in Cleveland awhile back. I was lucky enough to be called on stage to "assist" him for his bill in orange routine. A Classy looking and acting performer. |

Alan Shaxon was not only a fantastic magician and an inspiration to those that met him; he was also a true gentleman. He encouraged me as a newbie over 25 years ago and he remained supportive ever after. My sincere condolences to Anne and all at The Magic Circle who will feel this loss tremendously.
