Hi all, I have a dollar size coin set with a ttgf and three matching coins plus a tt insert.
so five coins depending on how you count them. I've been looking for the right type of storage for these guys. the JOL six coin folder wont hold them, but I like the style there. what does anyone recommend? seems like there should be a leather holder or something that would look nice & be secure thanks in advance |

Make sure the leather has a cloth type lining, apparantly leather damages the coins somehow chemically. I read it somewhere but cant remember the source

For that many coins, I strongly recommend this:
http://www.theambitiouscard.com/aitem.cfm?itemid=79 It holds the coins flat in your pocket, the cloth is designed not to blacken your silver coins (like JOL) and it will stay open on a table with the opening facing you (giving you some cover when you are taking out gaffs). Alan |

Here's the Onosaka purses:
http://www.seomagic-usa.com/catalog/prod......s_id/220 I carry my Morgan TWIAD set in the large size Onosaka and there's plenty of room. Five Morgan coins should just fit. The lining is some sort of vinyl, but it hasn't hurt the silver or the copper yet. Good suggestion, Todd. |

Honestly, the best choice I've found is a memory card holder for $4 at Walmart, based on a tip from Eric Jones. It is set up exactly the same as the JOL coin wallet (differentfrom the JOL Coin Tidy) with lesser quality leather, of course, and probably not leather. But I've found that the inner material is better than JOL, as it doesn't rip as easily. And the price is certainly right, and it is configured to hold six coins securely.

Before you buy a coin roll (such as a JOL), just bear a few things in mind.
If you bring that out in front of spectators, it's going to cry out "these are my gaffed coins that I need to protect"; whilst your audience will be asking themselves "what the hell is that"! The next question to ask yourself is IF you buy one, but you are going to carry the coins loose in your pocket prior to performance anyway, then what purpose is it serving If you want to carry or use your coins from some type of container, then a simple purse makes much more sense. Alternatively, if you are using older coins, then my preference is a simple, velvet draw-string bag. That is what I use for my shell Victorian Penny Set. it looks simple and enables you to easily pour out the coins into their hand. This can also double up as a mini close-up mat if you are using the spectators hand for display, etc. what's most important is that it is similar to how coins were carried DURING that era. Just my thoughts. Sorry but I think that these leather coin rolls/tidies look bloody awful and are, in all honesty, a waste of money when there are better AND cheaper options available. Just my point of view guys.

Good points all. One option is routines that use a purse or holder.
Flash coins relit is a great one. Are there other ones for gaffed coins? Are there any gaffed purses for coins? |

In addition to the rattle purse, there are these:

Or you could carry them in a coin/Okito box and introduce them with a routine that uses the coin box.

Hi all stevens magic has the ton onosaka purses, they even have a large one with the squeeze mouth.
I want to do flash coins relit with my ttgf, except maybe four coins appear! (we'll see) I like coin boxes, the only large size I see is the jim zee okito and boston and slot from daytona magic. |
