Yes me too
I buy a lot from Alacazam and they do come up with some great stuff But to be honest I was a bit suspicious of the cutting of the cards and why Mark immediately re cut them? That's why I haven't ordered just yet Do you have to re cut (I.e.) re set the deck each time? |

Hi John, it is a very valid point you make about the cutting of the cards. We have a dilema when producing a trailer, do we edit out anything that may give magicians an idea of how the effect is done or do we just show it walts and all. Myth is such a strong effect and so clean in perforance that we decided on no editing. I can honestly say that the trailer is not the cleanest of performances. Idealy the cards would have been cut just once, but then you have this strange situation where the other spectators are creating the thought of card but do not cut the cards. Whenever I perform this I get as many people involved as possible, IMHO I think it adds to the impossability of the thought of card being pre arranged. Personaly I want the effect to be remembered such that they all cut the cards when making a choice but I never touch them after the last person cuts. In performance it will seem to most spectators that I never cut the cards at all. It was tempting to leave out the other spectators cutting the cards but then people would have said "It`s been edited to cut out some dodgy move" I guess your dammed if you do and your dammed if you don`t. I am not a professional magician but I do some sets mainly for friends and family etc. I bought this recently from Alakazam. Have to say what it says on the advert is what you get. I really like these types of magic and Myth is a great trick. I have now performed this twice and the response has been great. Also, have to say that the advice given on presentation in the DVD(general advice) about if you should show a clean deck (if you can) is very interesting. I have taken that advice.
Myth is a very easy trick to learn. What I like about Myth is that its pretty much self working and so you can then concentrate on your presentation. You have many options. |

Thank you Mark. Reading the description, I have a question:
Quote:
Myth is supplied with two standard back design decks but can be made up in any brand of card (ie the 1800 deck as used in the trailer) I've seen that deck before, where can I find it? I think it really goes well with the presentation of the trick.
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death my right to say "scr*w you" if you persist. [Voltaire ]

I appologize if this has already been discussed in this thread, or if it is in the AD and I just misread it..
1.) Examinable? 2.) Would this be a good effect to incorporate with "Cataclysm" some how? |

Before I order this...do you have to re cut the cards after the spectator has?
Anyone answer? |

Bgm4gic,
I have this effect, it's great and as clean as it looks on the video. You couldn't perform cataclysm using the props but I think that it would be an interesting lead on from each other...maybe a bit decktastic though - you'd need to have big pockets! Examinable? Their deck - totally. Your deck - the DVD explains how you can make it look like it but there is no heat on yours given the routining provided so its a fairly irrelevant question, really. Hope that helps! |

For a really spooky presentation of Myth get one of these decks. http://www.readerofminds.co.uk/the_ouija_deck_49.html
Use it to make up the deck on which the numbers appear. Mark Gray |

Im thinking I might just stick with Cataclysm.
Pretty much the same idea, just less decks to carry around since a majority of my performances are done while Im out and about, and the bars on the weekends. |

I bought this about six months ago and only just discovered an error in the PDF which could make the trick fail on one of the cards.
