Some captured on 8 track, no less. http://www.goodmagic.com/cd/cds/bally/index.htm

Cellini's book has a pitch in his book 'The Royal Touch' that he claims is "the oldest pitch in this century". it is on page 24.

The carney pitch cd and a number of other related sideshow sounds and rarities/oddities like that can be bought regularly on eBay too.

Well I got the CD and it has quite a few pitches on it. I would recommend it.Definately a money maker if you are scripting a street show.

Does anyone else know about other documented pitchs/ballys? I love to hear modern day pitches for knives and cookware.

Most pitches seems so simply worded.
There doesn't appear to be a cadence in some cases.

Maybe it is the call to action,
the promise of exotic life forms.
~Danger~ the ultimate come on.

I guess, on the busking pitch, the very same allure applies. "Stop right there, just in time. in just 5 minutes, you will be amazed, confused. Right before your eyes, the world will change. Just in time. Stop right there. Crown princes and heads of state have paid in pure gold to view these illusions. just like you. crown princes. heads of state, just like you. Amazed and entertained. Just in time stop right there. .etc. etc.

A Svengali Pitch veteran was going to do a video on the pitch. Does anyone know how that is going?

Don Driver's Svengali Pitch video is out and available for purchase at his site http://www.dondriver.tk

I have mine on order and expect it very soon now. But there is already a review of in the Good Bad and Ugly DVD forum.

My feeling are hurt as a whole lot of people got theirs before I got mine, but I guess I will get over it. ;(

Well I didn't get a copy for review so at least you are not at the bottom of the pecking order.

Michael Ammar said in his current lecture that someone (the inventor of Svengali?) said that 750,000 decks had been sold to date. The inventor said 'You should be able to walk up to 1 in 10 people and say 'show me your Svengali deck'.
The story was related to emphasize that some popular tricks are rarely seen by the layman.

I think D'Lite would fall into that category.
There is no way to bring this post back to topic unless I say

"Just in time, right here ALIVE on the inside. The worlds only Svengali deck card man. There were three last year but two died Yes ALIVE on the inside.
10,000$ reward if the pasteboard prestidigitator is not alive and kicking and sleeping at James in LA's buskers hostel"

Just thought I point out Cellini does not make this claim. He says on page 24 "And so went on one of the finest and perhaps oldest pitch in this century ive ever witnessed.
Very good book thoe.

Stan Kramien has DVD pitches. Joe Stevens sells them. Some of the best around.

I have to agree with Bursky that "Stan's the Man" when it comes to pitches: the mouse, balloon pitch, horoscopes, coloring books. Call Stevens and get the real word on making money. (Hint - add multiple streams of income to your show.) This is my unsolicited advice. There are more profit centers in your show than you have imagined...

Could you post an URL for Joe Stevens? And maybe if you are willing, could you give me some background on Stan Kramien?

I have the Don Driver Svengali Pitch Video and have watched it a few times so far.

While it's a home made tape and is very up front about that fact, you can tell that this man knows this subject front and back.

It's on VHS and from what I remember was reasonably priced.
Without going into too much detail I'd have to say, get it.
I remember many years ago when one of my cousins pitched stripper and Svengali decks and he used to give me a couple of bucks to hand him while he was doing his pitch.
I had no idea what was going on, I just knew I had to hand him the money at a certain time.
After watching this tape the light went off in my head and I started laughing uncontrollably.

I think that you can learn a lot from this tape.

Take Care,

I think the pitch in the Cellini book is actually from George Price. It's a cute one, though the description of Price making the little buggers is kinda depressing.

Here is the pitch DVD by Stan Kramien at Stevens. I can't believe I don't have this. It will be on my short list.

Yours,
