For the first and second vanishes, I always found that using lighter coins was very helpful. Halves rather dollars, or 2p rather than £2 coins. I'm sure Justin can do it with anything, he is very good. But from what you say, maybe play about with different coins. I know what you mean, in terms of being well rounded. Coin magic places particular emphasis on physical choreography, especially Justin's routine, which should always be an important factor in routining, but is often slightly overlooked by many.
Have fun, and you can get Bobo for free. Nothing to lose. |

Thanks for your input as well, Tom. Watching Justin's choreography and misdirection was a real treat in the demo. -What I could make out as a noob anyway.

And of course it definitely is a good place to begin, and now there are also handfuls of helpful beginner DVDs to help you on your way. S&S is a nice trick, but the basic sleights are so much more important to learn or start out with, along with the understanding of things like misdirection and relative movements of body and mind. You also have to begin to think in different ways as you journey. That's what makes coin magic fun, because really everything in it is built off the basic sleights, like every word is built from the alphabet, but you must learn the alphabet good first before you can build it into words and sentences, then conversations and all sorts of written works. So, even S&S comes from someone that knows this stuff or knew of the building blocks first and foremost. Further down the "basics" road, Justin Miller does in Silver Dream is there in Bobo's (or like historical coin magic references), in parts. He has just assembled some things together into a great routine, done at a masterful level. And actually, most all coin magic can be found in Bobo's, if you look good enough. Anyway, once you get all that going, then other doors and levels open unto you. It's amazing how good you can get with this stuff with some diligence toward the varying levels of understanding. I've learned a lot in magic but nowadays stick more toward the simple things that I learned from the basics long ago, that's really all it takes to build big or small, toward mountains of smiles and amazement. Thanks for the good words and good journey to you. -Mb

Bobo is a must for coin magic, so much good magic in there. If you get Silver Dream you can see how some of what is taught in Bobo looks in performance and how a creative person like Justin Miller can make it his own.
And for more good coin magic, MB is always there for ya |
