Hey everyone. I'm glad the Nutdropper is creating some interest.
It is close to release...we are just finalizing details with suppliers etc. I hate building and hyping before a release and I don't think it is right to take your money on a pre-order before a release date is set in stone...not a good way to treat people. The price will be around $50 US. (30UK) which I think is pretty reasonable considering you get a double DVD and gimmick included. I am really proud of the work that has gone into making this release. There are three really solid working routines that I use all the time plus limitless routine possibilities for creating your own routines using the gimmick. The guys at Taste of Magic Productions have done a great job on the filming and editing and I think you will like it. Especially the bonus "run through" feature. I'll be back in touch when we are ready to release in January. Cheers! Ps thanks for your comments...I just love performing PPS the final destination coin routine will be released soon too...but that is for another thread. |

Hello Matthew,
OK, it's the new year! I want more information! I have to admit, I was unfamiliar with your work, but after seeing the trailer for this I picked up Unusual Suspect and have really enjoyed it. And while I know this thread isn't about Final Destination but since YOU brought it up, I'll ask a question. I see that Final Destination is taught on Unusual Suspect. Is the release going to include pre-made gaffs and more in-depth teaching? The teaching on Unusual Suspect is pretty darn good for it so I'm not sure what you would add other than the props! Finally, any more information on release date for both? Thanks, Mike |

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your comments. I'll keep it short on final. The teaching is similar but I have added a very easy walkaround set-up so you can get in to it in seconds mid routine ina walkaround setting. The full coin set is included with the release. The nutdropper will be officially released for Blackpool in February but preorders will be happening very very soon. I am opening a new web shop called 19 effects and as soon as it is ready we will launch the nutdropper, final destination and ,y new wallet "Fourseen" |

Hello Matthew,
Just a quick question about your new wallet "Fourseen". My good lady bought me The Unusual Suspect for Christmas and I think it's fantastic. I originally wanted it for the Mint routine as I saw you perform it at the House of Illusion last year and you slayed me with it! I also love the other routines, in paticular Mental Mullica. I don't own a Mullica wallet and was about to purchase the new hip style Mullica by Paul Harris to learn this effect. My question is will I be able to perform this routine with your wallet? If so I'll hold off and wait for it to come out. I'll definitely be buying the nutdropper effect!! Looking forward to hopefully cathing you lecture soon too. Kind regards, AA

I'm buying it just for the name. And if I get an amazing trick, well that's just a bonus.

I'm glad to have bought the Nut Dropper DVD during his lecture. Ingenious gimmick and full routines to make the effect the climax of any close up, stage or bar routine you're doing. The effect is more of a bonus really, with 3 complete routines included in two cds. Another bonus is seeing his thought process. This is a bargain for what it is and I would recommend it to all.

The Nutdropper .
what can I say ? I was fortunate to be sent a preview copy of this by Matthew last year. I should say I worked alongside matthew at the magic bar in manchester some geez must be 7 years ago and knew straight away that his stuff WORKS. The package comes as a gimmick and two DVDs. first look at the gimmick and you think nahhh cant be that simple , but it is ! Its when you get to the dvds that you really see the immense value in this set. Not only do you get some of the best video tuition that ive ever seen in terms of clarity , approach and ease of understanding but you get much much more than just that, ok sales pitch over, the nutdropper is a gimmick that does , as it says, allow you to load a ring or sim card or the like, single handedly inside a walnut inside a fruit inside one second!! Matthew shows how this can be used in parlour, stage and even close up scenarios , filmed in real performances (Sorry l&l fans) to amazning or should I say marvelous results. As a culmination to a cups and balls routine, a 3 shells routine or simple in close up the revelation of the ring from nut from fruit or the like has always been the reserve of sleight of hand masters requiring a switch in at the last moment. This is now over ! its done all at once in about a second. they see the fruit, you cut the fruit they see the walnut you break the walnut theres the ring . If that was all this set was then you would have a bargain at the price, but NO !!!!!!!!!!!!! Matthew has released his cups and balls routine, his 3 shell routine and other parts of his professional repertoire on these dvds !! I still remember the reactions that the three shell routine got in the magic bar and it is outstanding , again worht the price of the dvd alone , but to release it with the rest makes this set a very very valuable piece of kit. For workers this dvd set is priceless , I beleive that Matthew has firmly cemented his place as a performer allready , now hes doing the same as an innovator and inventor. |

I'm another in the lucky camp of people who were sent a pre-release copy of the Nutdropper.
I entered into it thinking "I'll never bother doing this. It just seems like a lot of work." I watched the DVD on the 18th of December and performed it on the 19th. So much easier than I thought. It's also a treat to see Matt's performance for real people - similarly with John Archer's DVDs - even if you never want to perform the effect (and frankly - why not?) you keep watching the DVD for the performance. I can't recommend this enough. It's fun to watch and if it leaves you with a great effect at the end of it, all the better. The setup is made so easy you have no excuse not to perform it. And the gimmick included finally makes this effect practical! Just get it. 'nuff said.

Scott Cuthbertson from Scotland is having trouble posting on here so asked me to post this review for him....of course I was only too happy to help
Hi Matthew. I can't get my bit to upload on the Café, don't know why. So here it is, you could maybe add it as another review. Feel free to edit, no one else will know 😊 I was one of the fortunate few to receive a review copy of Nutdropper by Matthew Wright. I've taken a bit of time to type this up as I wanted to try out the procedure with the gimmick first. Anyway here we go. To start, I was expecting this to be a one trick DVD, however I was pleasantly surprised to find, not only very full performance videos, but also explanations, in detail, of the complete act seen. This is a great feature as you can see where the work necessary for the item in walnut is done. Including all the timing and a great vanish oof the finger ring. I was a bit dubious when I saw the gimmick for the first time, however, it does exactly what it is supposed to do. And allows a spectator to handle the nut before it's opened and the reveal is made. So anyway, after trying it out I have to say it's a very easy way to load a walnut with anything that will fit, with the minimum of fuss. |

Hi guys,
Here's a review of The Marvelous Nutdropper from Issue 48 of MSM Magazine: http://www.magicseen.co.uk REVIEW: "I was lucky enough to have a pre-release copy of Matthew Wright’s latest effect Marvelous Nut Dropper (MND) sent to me for review. At the time of writing this the MND is in production so is not available to purchase. In a nutshell (excuse the pun) MND is ‘any small object inside a walnut, inside a fruit’. Anything that will fit into a walnut can be used for this effect. On first glance the gimmick looks like something a plumber may use, but once you see what it actually does it works a treat and is very clever indeed. Everything is taught in excellent detail on one of the two DVDs you are supplied with. The way the gimmick works enables you to load the object in play instantly into both the walnut and fruit simultaneously. It literally takes seconds. The effect is shown in three different arenas, stage, bar and close-up. As well as the MND explanation you actually get a full masterclass in magic. You get to see and learn Matthew’s complete routines for stage, bar and close-up. There’s cups and balls, three shell game, a ring leader routine, loads of funny gags and so much more. As the DVDs I received weren’t marked in any way I actually watched disk two first without realising. They really are a joy to watch, and it is clear that Matthew has really worked all that is seen on these DVDs. Also included is an interview with Harry Robson where they talk through Matthew’s stage performance/scripting. Whatever the final price for this is it will be worth every penny. Highly recommended. PS What’s hot: Great effect and loads of bonus stuff to learn too. What’s not: Nothing. 5 Stars |

Sounds really, really good...
I love the Ring in Walnut effect but the preparation isn't that fast:( - this effect seems like a must-have! Any updates regarding the release date & the price? Cheers Nikki

Are you also selling this directly at Blackpool?

I'm pretty sure he'll be selling all 3 of his new releases at Blackpool. Generally when they say, 'releasing at Blackpool', that means it will be available for sale there until they sell out of however many they bring. I think that he may even be offering a small discount on some or all of his releases for those who purchase at Blackpool. Wish I could go!

Nut dropper is a wonderful loader. I got an opportunity to see this gimmick before everybody else. Mr. Matthew Wright sent me right prototype of the gimmick to produce. I did not do any improvement on the gimmick. I just copied it and mass produced. I love to work inventors like Matthew Wright.
A great trick for the stage, as well as for the parlour. Uday Jadugar |
