It could be a lot of fun, maybe a séance, or something with the devil or a ghost character.
Not sure where you might perform it?
Or? The puppeteer (you) as the central theme with the P&J as props. Perhaps they are no longer the puppets and you are no longer in control?

I played around with a few ideas for p&j. One was to do a routine behind a simple three fold screen as the stage. At various times it looks like I have three hands and at the end of the routine as at alligator was devouring mr. punch I walk around the front and watch the puppets playing the final moments, then grab the puppets as they go limp, throw them in a bag, fold up the screen and walk off with it all.

Brian Flora used to do a bizarre punch routine. But the traditional punch is pretty bizarre in and of itself. Look at Santa Claus and Apunch and Judy on YouTube. Much of that routine was originally done by Al Flosso.
